IMO, a great game....Wasn't an artistic beauty, but when you have great defenses, that's what you get. Defense wins and both came to play last night. Had to root for Peyton as the sentimental choice, but it seemed like Von Miller and the Denver D, said they were going to win this one for the QB. They were relentless. Peyton can now walk away as a SB winner much like his boss Elway did.

Disappointed in Cam Newton's presser. Show a little class and grace in defeat. Epitome of a sore loser.

I think the Panthers had "one of those" Super Bowls. They did not look ready to play from literally the first series. They had miscues everywhere from errant passes to poor Special Teams, fumble-itis, just totally overwhelmed by the moment.

However, you could make a case that Denver's defense was the second best on the field last night. What the Panthers' defense did was remarkable. They limited Denver to 194 total yards (after 65 on the first drive), 3.2 yards/rush, 1/14 on 3rd down, 5 sacks, 2 turnovers. All for naught.

Getting scores off the TO's was the big key for Denver. I felt like that was their only chance going into the game and they did it.

Cam's performance only added fuel for the haters. Bad overall play, over thrown passes, not diving for a fumble that he basically backed away from, and the walkout during the presser.

Perhaps in testament to the early predecessors in this 50th Super Bowl, the teams played like those of the early 1970s ---- uptight and out-of-sync.

The defenses were good but the offenses were terrible.

As always it was turnovers which were the primary determinant.

Neither QB acquitted himself well, but the winning one had an excuse.

As I said, like the early 1970s --- and unlike the last 10-15 years --- IMHO Super Bowl "L" was a disappointing yawner.

1 out of 16 is not too bad.

If Carolina won they would be talking about how great the Carolina D played last night. Both defenses were unbelievable IMO. It was nice to see Peyton go out a winner but he looked like a shell of his former self out there. Not mobile at all, soft passes, cannot make certain throws anymore. He is very lucky he has such a dominant defense. I thought it was an OK Super Bowl - nothing that will go down in history at all.

Cam got hit like he was never hit before and that is tough in such a big game when emotions are so high. They had no answers and when they did keep their RBs in to block they almost dove out of the way of the Denver rushers. Without Brown, the receivers were not getting open and that has been the questionable part of their offense all year. Slow or shut down Olsen and you can slow down that offense. Hell the Giants shut them down the second half they played them. They need to get Cam a few more weapons in the receiving corps. Their game plan was also very questionable - almost like they did not think the Denver D was really that good. They thought Cam could buy some time and allow their receivers to get open and it did not happen. And they never adjusted to get the ball out of his hands quickly - a major blunder IMO. It also seemed like their game plan was not to do any of the designed runs for Cam - they only did a few. That option play gained good yardage and they never went back to it. Cam had a few receivers open early and was too amped up. If they had a good first drive you never know what would have happened.

I had no rooting interest in the game but I was disappointed at how badly the Panthers played offensively. I wanted to see a few more fireworks. They have a good shot at being back if they keep that D going and get Cam a few more weapons. As far as the presser he just missed another opportunity yesterday (in game and after). He is a young competitive guy so I give him the benefit of the doubt. And if Denver keeps that D in tact they can win with any decent QB. I think they also need a few more receivers too. Should be an interesting off season.

I thought the this SB was boring. Last one I remember being so poorly played was coincidentally when Peyton's Colts beat the Bears.

At one point didn't Phil Sims characterize the Panther receiver corps as "the best in the NFL"? Yeah, right!

.... Their game plan was also very questionable - almost like they did not think the Denver D was really that good.

Late in the fourth quarter, down 6, I would have gone to an option-read running game (wishbone-esque) and used all four downs to "matriculate down the field" to get to the goalline.

Cam was brave and had been hit, but IMHO Cam choked. But he is pretty young.

Kind of obvious that Peyton will retire. He can't get the ball downfield anymore and has zero mobility. Great way to go out on top. Give Denver defense props beating Brady and Newton in consecutive weeks.

Give Denver defense props beating Rothlisberger, Brady and Newton in consecutive weeks, although Steelers put up over 400 Yards on that great defense.

The NFL keeps changing the rules to make the game more offensive friendly, but in the end it is usually the teams with great defenses that win. The Denver D has been the best in FB all season and the punishment they handed out to Brady two weeks ago & Cam last night was something that neither QB was exposed to in their careers up to now. Both spent more time being pounded into the dirt than they ever experienced before.

With the league has been designed now, you absolutely must have a disruptive pass rush.

I would probably put Denver's team third in this "era" of teams that relied on defensive to win. And by era, I'll say the 2000's.

1 = Baltimore Ravens, 2000
2 = Seattle Seahawks, 2013
3 = Denver Broncos, 2015

The Giants two championships in that timeframe were fueled by ferocious pass rushes as well, but they were nowhere near the kind of overall units these 3 teams were.

If Newton was accurate the game would have been far different. He missed a lot of receivers all game. If the NYG played the same way they did but Eli was average, they would have lost both games.

One of the ways you can try to offset a pass rush is quick passing, but that requires an ability to control the game at the line scrimmage and have passes who is capable of making short/touch throws. Eli can do both. Brady can do both. That's why Brady had his team in position to beat them in Denver.

Cam struggles in both, which is why he was 28th out of 35 passers in completion percentage.

Amazing how one play changed the course and outcome of the game - the alleged dropped pass "confirmed" on review. The the recovered fumble in the end zone. Appears the review team fumbled the ball.

Cam's failure to try to recover the loose ball was amazing. Super Bowl on the line and the eagle MVP doesn't try. WTF? Disappointing to say the least. He made the bookies proud. And he's a sore loser. Lost e as a fan.

Cam was a mess yesterday. Very disappointing to all who are fans of him and the team I would think. You have a bad game? Fine. But hustle. Get after it. The SB is on the line and you're not going after the ball on the turf? Unreal.

He looked like the kind of player he acted like all week: A joke.

It wasn't the fact that Cam didn't go after the ball so much but that he appeared to back away from the ball when it was on the ground .

and the difference is???? He hesitated for whatever reason and will forever regret it, I'm sure.

Maybe in his hesitation he thought that the game was already a lost cause, so why risk injury..... in any case he blew it
