I would like an opinion on new HBO show "Vinyl" from anyone who has watched the first two episodes.

Hoping Snake Tom & Dan will let this non-basketball thread sneak by since I have a vested interest in it. Frank

I have not seen it, but two guys I work with who are both big music fans, did not like the first show.

I liked it, wasn't blown away by it. Saw only first episode so far.

it's a little all over the place. I think you have to be stoned to watch it. Some amusing parts, but I'm a little disappointed so far to be honest.

Enjoying " Billions" on Showtime. Not the best made for Cable show, but not bad.

Saw both and so far I like it. Last night really built nicely on the first show and there were some funny moments too. Like it; not love it yet, but I'm hooked. It occurs during 1973 so a lot of the bands and news of the times were cool. I laughed when they were arguing about signing the Good Rats.

Saw both episodes, and so far, it will have me tuning in next week...probably best way to describe it. There is enough there simply from having lived thru the era to create interest....question is, do they develop the characters and a story line worth continuing to watch. I will give it at least another episode or two....not bad, music is good...!

I haven't seen it but it was picked up for 2nd year before they wrapped. I will be in the final scene of the season finally. It was a fun shoot.

Jagger and Scorcese collaborated and Jagger's son has a lead role. Andrew Dice Clay resurrected as well but in a different role.

Watched last night and it was OK. I like Billions better but if I'm around I will watch Vinyl as I know all those bands.

Here is an article about the collapse of the Mercer Arts Center, which is famous for launching the New Yorks Dolls which is part of the plot of episode one. The Dolls are obviously represented by a David Johanson lookalike. I don't think any music was being played when it collapsed. Was on Mercer St , a block down from where the Bottom Line used to be

I was really excited about it because I really like Bobby Cannavale as an actor. Watched the first episode and taped the second. Don't know if I'll bother watching the second or not. Thought it might be another great watch like Homeland. Not even in the same ballpark.
