Pence

Regardless of how he looks, he's strong fiscally and terrible socially, another nanny-stater, I wouldn't want him as president.

I think he is a decent pick for Trump from a fiscal POV but socially not so much. A so so pick from Trump who I'm not sure had a lot of choices that wanted the job. Christie would have been worse and Gingrich a disaster. The whole election is a mess on both sides.

Agree with this...safe choice in that it appears he has zero skeletons and the press will be bored with him after a week. He doesn't excite me for the reasons stated, but what VP choice has been exciting in recent elections?

Not supposed to be exciting but supposed to help attract the groups or demographics that you struggle with.
Trump inquiring of Condi Rice made a lot of sense... though, it also made sense for her to turn him down.

The pick doesn't hurt Trump, but I don't see it really helping either. It also gives Hillary free reign over her pick. She doesn't really have to worry about countering at all. She just needs to get someone that Bernie supporters like.

At the end of the day, a VP just doesn't matter unless they can swing a state where they are from. They might hurt (Palin), but McCain wasn't winning anything anyway, but how did Geraldine Ferraro work out trying to get the female vote?

Plus, these two candidates have such big personalities/egos that my guess is that 75% of the people that vote in November won't be able to name both VP candidates.
