Head coach Kevin Willard welcomes Amarveer Singh & Myles Carter to Seton Hall Basketball family.

South Orange, N.J. -- Highly touted high school seniors Amarveer Singh (New Orleans, La.) and Myles Carter (Chicago, Ill.) have committed to play basketball at Seton Hall University and will join the Pirates this summer, head coach Kevin Willard announced Wednesday. The pair join Dalton Soffer (San Diego, Calif.), who committed to The Hall last winter, to form the Pirates' 2015 recruiting class.

"We are very excited to welcome Amarveer and Myles into our family," Willard said. "They are both very talented and terrific young men coming from outstanding high schools and AAU programs who will fit in well on our team and will be able to contribute both on and off the court."

Singh, also known by his nickname "Veer," is a 6-7 wing attending Thurgood Marshall High School in Manhattan and played under head coach Abdu-Allah Torrence. He was named a Player to Watch by the New York Daily News last winter and has been ranked as a top 20 recruit at his position and a four-star recruit via ESPN. Singh has been described as a versatile forward with great size and shooting ability, someone who can score on the block or from outside and a great passer. He averaged over 14 points, six rebounds and four assists at Thurgood Marshall this past season. He previously was an All-Area player at St. Peter's Prep and played his AAU basketball for the New York Lightning, the same program that helped develop current Pirates Khadeen Carrington and Angel Delgado and is led by head coach Dana Dingle.

"Veer is a highly skilled and talented wing and has developed into a dynamic playmaker," Willard said. "He has a strong ability to shoot the basketball and is also a very good passer. He not only comes from a terrific high school basketball program, but he also played for a great AAU team in the New York Lightning."

Carter is a 6-9 power forward attending St. Rita's of Cascia High School in Chicago. He helped St. Rita's and head coach Gary DeCesare to a 26-4 record and reach the Chicago Class 4A sectional championship game this past season. Known as a defensive specialist with a highly-developed body and broad frame, a rim protector and an athlete who enjoys playing in the paint and running the floor, Carter averaged eight points, six rebounds and four blocked shots this past season. His efforts landed him All-Catholic League South Section honors as well as All-News-Gazette Special Mention. Multiple recruiting services have Carter ranked as a top 20 player in the state of Illinois. Carter played AAU basketball for the Chicago MeanStreets and head coach Tai Streets, a former NFL wide receiver.

"Myles is a high-energy and talented big man with tremendous upside," Willard said. "He has played at top tier programs at St. Rita's and MeanStreets, and his experience competing at a high level will serve him well on this team and competing in the BIG EAST."

Singh and Carter are joined by Soffer, who committed to Seton Hall last November and is attending Poway High School in San Diego. Known for being a sharpshooter from behind the arc, he was a second-team All-San Diego selection by the San Diego Union Tribune and first-team All-Palomar League pick after becoming a prolific scorer for the team.

Looking ahead to 2015-16, a talented Seton Hall squad will return eight letterwinners from this past season, including second-team All-BIG EAST guard Sterling Gibbs, BIG EAST Rookie of the Year forward Angel Delgado, BIG EAST All-Rookie guard Isaiah Whitehead, and gain the services of forward Michael Nzei, who sat out the 2014-15 season. The Pirates will have 70 percent of its scoring and rebounding back from a team that won the Paradise Jam championship and the Garden State Hardwood Classic and knocked off a pair of top-15 nationally ranked teams.

The Pirates will be participating in the 2015 Charleston Classic alongside Bradley, George Mason, Long Beach State, Mississippi, Oklahoma State, Towson and Virginia. The rest of the non-conference schedule will be released at a later date.

+1 Welcome to both SIngh and Carter.

Both seem to be players who will help us. Here's hoping for the best.

all things considered, I think these were 2 quality pickups for this late in the recruiting season. Probably no immediate impact for next year, but by all accounts they seem like solid 4 year players with room to develop.

Singh Will start next season..

Other than last year, is this Willard's best recruiting class since he arrived? Sounds better than his first few.

If that's the case are we looking at either Gibbs, IW, Singh, Delgado, Carter or IW, Carrington, Singh Delgado, Carter?

I was laying out the lineup scenario if he leaves.

That's what drinking buddy reported. Also reported we'd have a new starter at the five. When does he sign (and who is he?)?

His first few were downright awful. Thus far, although better than those, this is still a bottom third BE recruiting class.
