SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The 2015-16 Seton Hall men’s & women’s basketball season is rapidly approaching, and Pirates fans will have an early opportunity to see the team in action! Both teams will hold a blue & white scrimmage on Saturday, Oct. 3 at historic Walsh Gymnasium at 12 p.m.

Each team will scrimmage for approximately 20 minutes and will then sign autographs for fans afterwards. The event is part of Seton Hall Weekend 2015, the University’s weekend of celebrating community spirit shared among the alumni, students, faculty, staff and surrounding community.

The men’s team, coming off a season that included the Paradise Jam and Garden State Hardwood Classic championship titles and two wins over Associated Press top 15 teams, return an ultra talented sophomore class that accounted for 48 percent of the team’s scoring and 58 percent of the team’s rebounding. Headlined by BIG EAST Rookie of the Year Angel Delgado, BIG EAST All-Rookie and McDonald’s All-American Isaiah Whitehead and two-time BIG EAST Rookie of the Week Khadeen Carrington, the Pirates have also added impact transfers Braeden Anderson and Derrick Gordon and have three talented freshmen newcomers who will look to break into the rotation.

The women’s team is coming off a program-best 28 wins, the school’s first-ever BIG EAST regular season championship and first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1995. The Pirates are seeking a third straight national postseason bid and return leading scorer Tabatha Richardson-Smith, who was a second-team All-BIG EAST and All-Met selection last season while averaging 17.8 points and 6.8 rebounds and leading the team in three-pointers made (94). The Hall has also gained the services of senior Aleesha Powell, who sat out last season after transferring from Iona where she was an All-MAAC guard. The team also welcomes impact graduate transfer Shakena Robinson, a New Jersey native who sported a 1.64 assist/turnover ratio at Florida State.

2015-16 season tickets for both men’s and women’s basketball are on sale now by calling the Seton Hall Athletics Ticket Office at 973-275-4255. Season tickets start at just $153 for the men and $45 for the women and they offer access to the best seats and best value for fans.
