North Florida would get three runs back in the sixth inning to make it a 7-4 game, but the Pirate bats went back to work in the late stages to maintain the lead. In the seventh, Zack Sylvester (Montville, N.J.) hit a solo home run to make it an 8-4 game. One inning later, Staus Pokrovsky (Pittsgrove, N.J.) helped cushion the lead with a two-run shot, the fourth of the day for Seton Hall.

Frankie Scrivanic (Tinton Falls, N.J.) added an extra insurance run in the eighth with an RBI single to right, bringing Melnick across home plate with the 11th Seton Hall tally.

Ryan Reich (Selinsgrove, Pa.) got the start on the mound for the Pirates, working the first 4.2 innings and allowing just one run. Alex Nicolosi (Stony Point, N.Y.) earned the three-inning save, allowing just one hit and striking out a pair in his outing.
