ARLINGTON, TEXAS -- The Seton Hall women's basketball team looks to continue its strong start to the 2015-16 campaign when it visits UT-Arlington on Tuesday night at College Park Center. The Pirates (4-0) have won the first four games of a season for the first time since 2008-09 and will look to make it five-straight in their first all-time meeting with the Lady Mavs (1-2). The contest is the second in a stretch of five-straight away from South Orange.
The trip to Texas is a homecoming of sorts for senior Tabatha Richardson-Smith, a Texas-native from Bay City. The match-up is only the third all-time for the Pirates against a team currently in the Sun Belt Conference, with prior contests against Arkansas State (2009) and Georgia State (1984).
PIRATE POINTS -Richardson-Smith leads The Hall with 19.3 points per game and is among the national leaders with 3.8 3-pointers per game and a 48.4 percent mark from range
- Tiffany Jones (New York, N.Y.) is the reigning BIG EAST Player of the Week after averaging a double-double in The Hall's 3-0 week with wins over Rutgers, No. 24 Princeton and Saint Joseph's.
- Jones is second on The Hall with 15.8 points per game and ranks third in the BIG EAST with 9.0 rebounds per contest
- Seton Hall grabbed 50 rebounds and was +18 in rebounding margin at St. Joe's, both season-bests
- Lubirdia Gordon (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) had a career day against the Hawks with 12 points, seven rebounds and three blocks
- Shakena Richardson (Neptune, N.J.) ranks second in the league with 6.5 assists per game
