SKILLMAN, N.J. – The Seton Hall women’s tennis program was well-represented on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Academic Award winners, announced by the organization this week. In addition to the squad’s recognition as an All-Academic Team, five Pirates earned ITA Scholar-Athlete Awards.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any member program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above. Scholar-Athlete awards are presented to letterwinners with a GPA of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale for the current academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
The five Pirates to receive the individual award include Anna Guryanova (Moscow, Russia), Julia Keenan (Greenland, N.H.), Katie Kim (Honolulu, Hawaii), Isabell Klingert (Oderbalbach, Germany) and two-time All-Conference selection Hannah Liljekvist (Djursholm, Sweden). The five award winners tied for second-most among BIG EAST women’s tennis programs represented on the list.
The honorees represent more than half of head coach Greg Wyzykowski’s 2014-2015 roster. The Hall has earned the All-Academic Team award from the ITA in each year under Wyzykowski.
