GAME PROGRAM

THE GAME
Seton Hall will begin play at the 2025 National Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) on Thursday, March 20 when it returns to historic Walsh Gymnasium to host Quinnipiac in the event's first round. Tip time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.

MEDIA
The game will be streamed live by ESPN+ with Matt Ambrose and Lauren DeFalco on the call. As usual, the game will also be available over the airwaves at 89.5 FM WSOU or wsou.net. Joe Morales and Mike Federico will describe the action on the radio. Live stats will also be available.

WSOU is also airing a post-game "Hall Line" show following its women's basketball games. Be sure to tune in after the final buzzer.

WBIT
Seton Hall earned a No. 3 seed in the WBIT and faces Quinnipiac in the opening round. If the Pirates can get past the Bobcats, they'll face the winner of the game between No. 2 Stanford and Portland on Sunday, March 23. The location and time of that contest has not yet been determined.

Seton Hall All-Time vs. the Bobcats: Seton Hall leads, 3-0
All-time Meetings:
Seton Hall 69, Quinnipiac 64 in OT (F) – December 30, 2007 (San Diego, Calif.)
Seton Hall 63, Quinnipiac 58 (F) – December 4, 2000 (M&T Bank Arena)
Seton Hall 72, Quinnipiac 56 (F) – December 19, 1999 (Walsh Gym)

AGAINST QUINNIPIAC
Seton Hall and Quinnipiac will meet for the fourth time ever on Thursday, and the first time in 18 years. The Pirates have never lost to the Bobcats in three prior meetings, including a 69-64 overtime victory for The Hall in their last meeting on a neutral floor at the San Diego Surf 'N Slam on Dec. 30, 2007. These teams have never met in the postseason.

SCOUTING QUINNIPIAC
Quinnipiac will be competing in its first postseason tournament since the WNIT at the conclusion of the 2021-22 season. The Bobcats are in the midst of one of their best seasons in program history and have won 28 of their 32 games this season, which included a sparkling 18-2 record in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play. Second-seeded Quinnipiac made it to the title game of the MAAC Tournament before falling to top-seeded Fairfield in the championship game.

Gal Raviv was named the MAAC Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year after her historic first season in Hamden. Head coach Tricia Fabbri was named the 2025 MAAC Coach of the Year. Additionally, Raviv was named to the All-MAAC First Team, while Anna Foley earned Second Team honors, and Jackie Grisdale picked up Third Team recognition.

UP NEXT
If Seton Hall defeats Quinnipiac, it will advance to the second round of the WBIT and face the winner of the game between second-seeded Stanford and Portland. Although the location and time remains to be determined, the contest will be streamed on ESPN+. 89.5 FM WSOU or wsou.net will also carry the game.

The Q Bobcats came to play. Their band was upstairs loudly. Their cheerleaders and dancers were on the opposite side of the stage.
Our cheerleaders were by the stage but our dancers were in the stands. We really should support these young ladies better.
Less than the seasons fans came out, still enthusiastic though. We had a six point lead at the half. Won 57-40

Bozzella is one interesting coach … they asked him about the play of one of his ladies after the game and he started to cry.

Coach loves his team. At the last substitution he was hugging his seniors as they came out. Harty9 is right, people need to come out and support this team, our team!

People here want winning basketball. These ladies win, they play hard! People here want postseason tournaments. These ladies get to the post season! So where the hell was everyone tonight!? Come out and support these ladies, they deserve it!

Coach has a young nucleus that will hopefully all return next season lead by sophomore Savannah Catalon and all-Big East first team freshman, Jada Eads. Come out and support Coach Bozzella and help him surround these young ladies with even more talent so they can take the next step and get back to the NCAA’s.

Games are easy to get to, tickets are cheap and the ladies win! Honestly, what more do you want!?

Did I read that right, Stanford was 16-14 and a two seed? That record doesn’t really scream upset, no disrespect to Portland. That’s a record that looks lucky to be playing in the postseason. Portland’s record is much better even given the fact that they probably faced much lesser competition.

This was the first year since 1987 that Stanford didn’t make the NCAA tournament. Probably brought them a little extra cachet.

I Looked and the women's NET rankings has UConn #1 S Carolina 2, Princeton 47, Stanford 49
Seton Hall 76, portland 85, and Quinnipiac 100.

The ACC has seven teams in the NCAA field and Stanford also played LSU and Ohio State out of conference.

It looks like Portland one consequential non-conference game was a 19-point win over Princeton. The WCC looks a weaker version of the Big East. A couple of very good teams and then a drop-off.

Definitely a down year for a Stanford program that has been at or near the top of Women's hoops even longer than UConn has.
