Head coach Rick Stainton announces four additions for the upcoming year

With his second season in charge in the books, Seton Hall women's soccer head coachRick Stainton has announced a talented class featuring four student-athletes that have signed on to become Pirates beginning with the 2016 season.A quartet of standouts from the tri-state area will make their way to The Hall next year as Garden State products Siobhan McGovern (Cranford, N.J./Cranford), Jackie Robinson (Matawan, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) and Sarah Schweinberg (Wantage, N.J./High Point Regional) will be joined in blue & white by Enfield, Conn. native Marissa Aniolowski (Kingswood Oxford School).
The decorated group will offer support throughout the lineup for Stainton's Pirates and will be integrated into a side that is set to return eight players who made at least nine starts last season.
"We are extremely pleased with our incoming class," said Stainton. "Marissa, Siobhan, Jackie and Sarah all bring diverse and unique skill sets to the table but one of the things they share in common is that they are accustomed to acheiving at a high level both on the field and in the classroom. We are working to get to the point where sustained success is the standard for our program and I know these fit right in with the committed group that we have now."
With all four incoming Pirates hailing from the surrounding area, The Hall is set to boast 13 freshmen and sophomores who call either New York, New Jersey, Connecticut or Pennsylvania home as Stainton and his staff continue to increase their footprint in a talent-rich area.
The Hall has been able to step out of the region to attack top talent in recent years as well as current Pirate and Mexico U20 international Eva Gonzalez (Mesquite, Texas) became just the sixth Pirate in program history to land on the All-Freshman Team after she tied for the team-lead with two assists in her debut campaign.
Fellow newcomer Anna MacLean (Thunder Bay, Ontario) stepped into a stable of quality goalkeepers and earned nine starts as well.
"We are working to create an atmosphere of competition," Stainton added. "Competition within the team will only serve us well when it is time to line up against another opponent. We want our student-athletes constantly pushing each other to improve, whether it be as soccer players or as students and representatives of Seton Hall. I am proud of the way our team has developed and I know this class will only help us continue to move forward."
