SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – After finishing with a 5-3 record in non-conference play, already matching its most wins in a season since 2016, the Seton Hall women's soccer team will open its BIG EAST schedule on the road as the Pirates travel to Villanova on Thursday, Sept. 23, for a match at 3 p.m. before heading to Butler for a 12 p.m. game on Sunday, Sept. 26.

AGAINST VILLANOVA AND BUTLER
With the adjusted league schedule this past spring, the Pirates didn't play Butler but played Villanova twice. The Wildcats were able to get by The Hall with late goals in double overtime in both contests as Villanova won 2-1 on March 18 and April 8 in the Pirates' regular season finale.
Butler leads the all-time series with the Pirates, 5-1-1, with its lone defeat coming in the first meeting between the two programs on Sept. 29, 2013, a 3-0 win for The Hall.

- With 10 regular season games still to play, the Pirates have already matched their best win total since 2016.

- Junior Grace Gordon (Chester Springs, Pa.) and the Seton Hall defense have posted four clean sheets this season with the most recent coming in the 1-0 victory over Lehigh on Sept. 12.
- Offensively, senior Naomi Welch (Livingston, Scotland) leads the Pirates with four goals and is tied for the team lead with three assists.
- As the forward up top, 10 of Welch's 19 shots taken this season have been on goal.
- Junior Julia Aronov (New Hyde Park, N.Y.), who did not play at Columbia, was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on Sept. 13 after finishing with a league-best seven points in a 2-0 week for the Pirates.
