- The Seton Hall men's basketball team returns to Prudential Center on Tuesday when the Pirates host Providence at 7 p.m. on Peacock.
- Seton Hall's recent struggles have not been helped by a rash of injuries to its backcourt with Chaunce Jenkins missing the last two games with a knee injury and Dylan Addae-Wusu returning Saturday from a three-game absence with a foot injury.
- Addae-Wusu, who scored five points and tallied three steals in 15 minutes at Creighton, is the Pirates' second-leading scorer in BIG EAST play (12.2 ppg) and leads the team in assists (3.2 apg).
- Addae-Wusu is one assist away from 400 career assists and went over 200 career steals at Providence.
- Addae-Wusu trails only Creighton's Ryan Kalkbrenner for the most career BIG EAST games played among active players with 84.
- Prior to missing the last three games, Addae-Wusu scored 24 points and dished out seven assists, both personal bests in his Seton Hall career, against DePaul.
- The Pirates were also without super sophomore Isaiah Coleman, the BIG EAST's second-leading scorer, against the Bluejays,
- After a bounce back performance at Butler with 21 points and four assists, Jenkins suffered an injury in the second half against St. John's and has not played since.
- The Pirates are 4-2 on the season when Chaunce Jenkins is their leading scorer.
- Jenkins, who left with a hamstring injury in the second half against St. John's, scored 21 points and dished out four assists in the Pirates's loss at Butler.
- Saturday's game will be the 116th all-time meeting between Seton Hall and Providence.
- A fellow charter member of the BIG EAST Conference, Providence is Seton Hall's third-most common opponent.
- The two teams have split the last four meetings and three of those contests were decided by single digits.
- Isaiah Coleman has come into his own in conference play where he trails only Villanova's Eric Dixon in scoring averaging 20.6 points per game against BIG EAST foes.
- Coleman is recently coming off of another career-best performance as he scored a personal-high 27 points and finished one rebound shy of his second career double-double
- Coleman also ranks 10th in the conference averaging 6.3 rebounds per game and 10th shooting 84 percent from the line against BIG EAST foes.
- Coleman is one of only four Pirates since 1988 to score at least 15 points in the first five BIG EAST games of the season joining Mark Bryant (1987-88), Terry Dehere (1992-93) and Myles Powell (2019-20).
- Coleman has scored in double-figures in 11 of his last 12 games and five of those outputs were 20-point performances against BIG EAST teams.
- After struggling from the free throw line through the first month of the season, Seton Hall has bounced back since the start of conference play shooting 74 percent (138-of-187) from the stripe.
- Stepping up in a time of need in the Seton Hall backcourt, Garwey Dual has shown signs of improvement over the last three games where he has averaged 8.0 points, 3.7 assists and 3.7 steals in 33.2 minutes per game.
