- Coming off of its first national postseason tournament victory since 2018, the Seton Hall men's basketball will host North Texas in the second round of the NIT inside historic Walsh Gymnasium on Saturday morning.
- The two teams met once previously on Dec. 13, 1980, Bill Raftery's final season at The Hall, in the Cougar Classic in Provo, Utah when the Pirates defeated then-named North Texas State, 89-78.
- The Pirates' 75-72 win over Saint Joseph's marked their first national postseason win since The Hall's 94-83 victory over NC State in the first round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
- Al-Amir Dawes turned in one of the best performances of his career as he tied career highs in points (26) and made threes (6), including the game-tying trey at the end of regulation and the go-ahead three-pointer in overtime that helped seal the win.
- Seton Hall is 10-4 in games decided by 10 points or fewer this season.
- The Pirates are 2-0 in Walsh Gym this season and 15-3 overall as the home team.
- Head coach Shaheen Holloway is the first Seton Hall head coach to win a national postseason tournament game within his first two seasons.
- The Pirates are 430-143 all-time inside Walsh Gym and have won 31 of their last 32 games against non-conference opponents dating back to 1989.
- Seton Hall has only played three NIT games inside historic Walsh Gymnasium; Wednesday's win over Saint Joseph's and in 2011-12 when the Pirates defeated Stony Brook, 63-61, before falling to UMass, 77-67.
- Prior to their loss to the Minutemen in the NIT, the Pirates last defeat to a non-conference opponent in Walsh Gym was against Fordham on Dec. 16, 1989 (65-60).
- Seton Hall has played in a national postseason tournament in seven of the last eight seasons (five NCAA, two NIT).
- The Pirates are 9-19 all-time in NIT games and won the NIT championship in 1953.
- Picked to finish ninth out of 11 teams in the BIG EAST preseason poll, head coach Shaheen Holloway led the Pirates to a fourth place finish and a 13-7 record in league play, tied for the second-most BIG EAST wins in program history.
- Already the program's leader for BIG EAST wins and overall victories through two seasons, Holloway is the first Seton Hall head coach to lead the Pirates to postseason appearances in each of his first two seasons.
- Kadary Richmond, who's one of two players in the BIG EAST (Devin Carter, PC) to rank in the top 11 in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals in league play, is one of 40 players named on the Oscar Robertson Trophy and All-America Watch List.
- Richmond is tied for second in Division I with eight 20 point, 5 assist, 5 rebound games this season.
- Richmond is one of six Pirates all-time (Terry Dehere, Shaheen Holloway, Andre Barrett, Khadeen Carrington, Myles Powell) to score 1,000 points, collect 400 rebounds and tally 300 assists in a career.
- Dre Davis averaged 16.2 points per game and shot 52 percent from the floor and 86 percent from the free-throw line in BIG EAST play, becoming the first BIG EAST player to average 16 pts, shoot 50% FG and 80% FT in league since Mikal Bridges for Villanova in 2017-18.
- Jaden Bediako ranks second in the BIG EAST and 11th in Division I averaging 3.8 offensive rebounds per game.
