Much different situation, but Angel moving on early somehow reminded me of the flirtations Kentucky had with PJ after the 89 season. That was difficult for a Pirate fan and WFAN was on top of it the whole time. Nerve wracking, really. I listened nonstop. Angel leaving not the same but a waiting game nonetheless with what is likely a foregone conclusion.

how loyal was PJ to SHU? Think about it. He turned down Kentucky, Notre Dame, maybe even other jobs. Not many coaches would have done that. It worked out well for him.
