After making a running jumper that put the Pirates up by 13, 29-16, with 9:18 left in the first half, senior Kadary Richmond (Brooklyn, N.Y.) wowed the crowd by grabbing a defensive rebound on one end and knifing through traffic in the backcourt by dribbling the ball behind his back and through his legs in one motion. He then found Sanders on the wing who passed it Coleman on the low block and finished a lay up with contact, converting a traditional three-point play that extended the Pirates' lead to 16, 32-16.

The Great Danes cut their deficit to 10 on a three-pointer with 7:13 left before halftime but Sanders' first trey of the game and a layup by Dawes gave The Hall a 15-point advantage again, 39-24. A three-point basket by senior Dylan Addae-Wusu (Bronx, N.Y.) gave the Pirates their biggest lead of the game up to that point, 47-29, at 4:03 mark in the first half.

UAlbany would not go away early on in the second half as both sides traded baskets after halftime and it trailed by just 15 with under 15 minutes to go. From that point on, Coleman was all over the floor for the Pirates as he sparked a Seton Hall run that would put the game out of reach.
