Predictions on who Trump and Clinton will select? VP's have historically had little impact on an election but these two candidates are so unlikable that you wonder.

Really no idea at this point honestly.

I think Hillary needs to go anti-establishment. Someone that can attract the Bernie voters to keep turnout from falling too low.
I just have no idea who that could be yet. I think Castro was the strong favorite for a while but not sure if he is necessary anymore since Hispanics are going to show up to vote against Trump.

Trump needs a populist conservative who can be the bridge to the moderate voters.
Not sure who that is yet either. If Carson didn't run such a horrendous campaign I think he would have been the pick.

The electoral map is a problem for any Republican. Trump needs to pull Ohio and/or Florida away from being blue. Thus, I always thought Kasich was running for VP from the start of this campaign. However, he has surprised me by staying in the race so long. So while I thought he would be a good running mate for Trump, I just don't see Trump wanting him.

Likewise, I cannot see him offering the VP spot to Rubio. It certainly will not be Christie. No way two East Coast loud mouths on the same ticket. Look for an unconventional choice like a former General to bolster his lack of foreign policy experience.

Hillary's VP? I have no clue. Does she ask Bernie? I doubt it. Elizabeth Warren? Two women on the ticket I do not think is ideal.
I think someone young and fresh would be a good idea for her. Someone like Gavin Newsome.

Corey Booker?
One of the worst Mayors ever in Newark. I was so hoping he would be better but ya know he is a great personal marketer - best Senator on Twitter who has never accomplished anything.

Let's see if the two numbnuts/candidates for each party can come up with more unlikeable people than they are. How about Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi for Dem VP and Dennis Hastert or Ted Cruz for Republican VP. What other super unlikeable VPs can we add to these two disastrous tickets?

Corey Booker?

I listened to him on Star Talk Radio with Neil DeGrass Tyson recently. I haven't really been a fan of his prior to that as he comes off pretty superficial on a lot of issues but came away liking him a lot more after that episode. (great podcast btw)

He definitely wants it and may be enough to keep young people engaged.
Hillary could do worse.

I have to agree with your assessment of Booker. There is no doubt he is an intelligent guy who is charismatic. But, he has not accomplished a thing in public life except to self promote. There is not a question in the world that his predecessor was a better mayor. That's right Sharpe did more for the city than Booker ever could. He somehow parlayed those do nothing years mayor into one of the great jobs in America. The United States Senate.

There should not be any way in the world that she should pick him for VP.

The Black vote and the NE vote are not things Hil will be worried about.

Doubt he would take it, but a bold move for Trump would be to pick Colin Powell. And for Hillary, why not Joe Biden?

Joe Biden isn't playing second fiddle again. That is hard to do when you know you would be better President than Obama. No way he puts himself through that again.

Trump should pick Robert Gates for VP. Respected and has served under Bush and Obama. Would keep Trumps thumb off the button too...lol

Gates is not a bad suggestion. He should really pick a woman I believe that can garner some support. A minority woman would be the best but who will that be? Or his daughter - an all Trump ticket -lol.

I would think Powell has too much integrity to join the Trump ticket. He compromised his integrity once before for GW Bush with his push for invasion of Iraq in front of the UN. I doubt he would compromise his integrity again.

Didn't realize it earlier but Powell is 80, so a moot point.

The thought of Corey Booker being a heart beat away is revolting when one considers how horrendous a job he did as Mayor of Newark. An incorrigible self promoter.

As to Robert Gates he might be a better choice for Hillary than Trump. Yes he is a Republican but in his book detailing his years as Sect of Defense he praises Hillary quite a bit while at the same time showing his disagreements with President Obama. I recall some analysts considered his book as an endorsement of the Secretary of State in her expected Presidential run.
