Practice started out as every one does with about 10 minutes of stretching. After that 10 minutes of ball handling drills for every single player.

Then the practice got into high gear.

The guards and wings under the supervision of Holloway worked on shooting drills. The drills were passes to the interior and then returned to shooters at the arc. After that was completed players worked around screens then taking mid range jumpers.

All of the above was done quickly with no rest in between so the action was constant.

While this was happening Willard worked the big men on the opposite side of the court as Billmeier was late arriving. The drills consisted of working through screens and then finishing mid range or by driving to the hole.

There was also long range shooting drills from near the arc to slightly inside it.

After that the entire squad got together with 3 teams consisting of 5 players each rotating on the court concentrating (in the hallfcourt) on double teaming the ball defensively in the corners while the offense countered by quick ball movement to get a shot from the top of the key. That resulted in a made basket or a miss culminating in a rebounding drill.

This went on for approximately 20-25 minutes.

Then the highlight of the day for me. Fast break drills. First 2 on 1 (with a defensive trailer) then 3 on 2 then 4 on 3 before ending 5 on 5. This continued for a good portion of the rest of practice and enabled me to watch players compete in game like conditions both defensively and offensively.

No fouls were called and players like Anthony and Rodriquez certainly got their fair share of 'hits' in.

The practice concluded with foul shooting drills and the players took that seriously. In fact at the very end a few of the players had to take two shots from the line. Missing either concluded with pushups for his group.

This is the first practice I have ever attended that concentrated more on offense then defense and in truth one I really enjoyed.
