NEW YORK, N.Y. - Senior Zach Prendergast (Horsham, Pa.) was named to the 2017 All-BIG EAST First Team on Tuesday. Sophomore Cullen Dana (Montgomery, N.Y.), senior Ryan Testani (Shelton, Conn.) and junior Ryan Ramiz (Freehold, N.J.) earned Second Team recognition.

Voting for the All-BIG EAST team and major awards was conducted by the league's seven head coaches who could not cast a ballot for their own teams.

Prendergast has been dominant over his last six starts having allowed only five runs over his last 33.1 innings pitched. The right-hander threw a complete-game shutout with seven strikeouts and only one walk against Creighton on May 6. The following start, Prendergast needed just 82 pitches to throw a no-hitter at Villanova. He struck out a career-high 10 batters without a single walk, and only pitched to one batter over the minimum. For his no-hitter efforts, he was named NCBWA National Player of the Week, BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week and one of Collegiate Baseball's National Players of the Week. Prendergast ranks second in the BIG EAST with seven wins and third with 85.1 innings pitched. He also ranks amongst the conference top-10 in starts, earned run average, strikeouts and fewest walks. Prendergast has twice been named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week and twice to the conference's Weekly Honor Roll.

Dana earns BIG EAST Second Team status for a second straight season. The left-hander was named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week after throwing seven scoreless innings with eight strikeouts against one of the top offenses in the country, St. John's, on April 29. In his most recent start, Dana tossed a complete-game shutout in a seven-inning game with eight strikeouts at Villanova on May 14. Dana ranks amongst the BIG EAST top-10 in wins, earned run average, strikeouts and innings pitched. He has already set career-highs in innings pitched and strikeouts this season.

Testani emerged as one of the nation's top relief pitchers this year, pitching 20.1 innings before allowing his first earned run. The right-hander was named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week on March 13 after six innings of shutout relief in Seton Hall's 3-2 victory at No. 2 Florida. Testani leads the Pirates with four saves and sports a microscopic 1.48 earned run average. He ranks second in the BIG EAST in both relief appearances and games finished. Earlier this spring, Testani was named Seton Hall's "Breakthrough Athlete."

Ramiz has already set career-highs in batting average, doubles, triples, RBIs, total bases and stolen bases this season. His 17 stolen bases are tied for third-most in the BIG EAST Conference and he leads the Pirates with 15 multi-hit games. Named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on May 15, Ramiz enters the 2017 post-season as one of the hottest hitters in the conference. He has an eight-game hit streak and is batting .485 over that stretch.

What a job Blankmeyer does at SJU. He has 7 players on the all BE first team and 1 on the second team. He has the freshman of the year and one of the two pitchers of the year in Sean Mooney and the sole SJU player on the All BE second team is also a freshman pitcher Joe LaSorsa .
