Whoever reviewed the videos on this motley crew before signing them must have not been wearing his glasses. There at least five that are not remotely close to first line Big East players. His name is Prince but he is more like a court jester, yes, pun intended. Toumi is bad in all aspects of the game. How do you say, brick in French? Garway has a Dual personality, but unfortunately, neither is that of a good basketball player. Gus seems like a nice kid, but I hope he has a return ticket on the bus. When signed, it was implied that he was a Robbie Avila type. They are both chubby, but that's where the resemblance ends. Get on the bus, forget about us, put the blame on Sha. We knew about Zion Harmon from his previous recruitment, so there is no excuse for not doing due diligence. If we win 10 games with this group it will be a minor miracle.

Why not ask the coach why he had his best offensive player running around chasing Bashir so that he didn’t have anything to give on a poorly coached offense? He should have denied him the ball with Dual and Middleton chasing him around and let Jenkins and Coleman give max effort to the offense.
Long gone are the days where the players are “kids.” They’re not your local teenagers recruited from small group 1 and 2 public schools. I don’t know why our fans continually look at them like that. Most players now are 21 and up, many even 24 or 25 years old. Having gone to 2 or 3 basketball factory “high schools.”
Most of them made the decision or had the decision made for them that their future would be basketball or nothing.
It’s ridiculous. They’re not kids, I bet if they were called a kid in the right setting they’d want to fight.

Yes, but not all of them. We know we generally recruited players who fall in one of two baskets; the HS 4-star who has underperformed expectations for whatever reason (Middleton, Dual, etc.); and the decent mid-major looking to step up in competition (Jenkins, Toumi, etc.). With the exception of Jenkins, who for me has performed at or slightly better than expectation, everyone else is below.
There would seem to be a disconnect between player and coach. There is simply no excuse to have an offense ranked 316th in the Nation. We should have been able to roll the basketballs out on Day 1 and had the equivalent of that.
I disagree with the OP that this is a player-problem. Had this occurred in Big East play, yes, we could talk about our favorite subject NIL and having to settle for players that we could afford.
Instead, we are talking about a less than daunting OOC schedule, during which we are failing to demonstrate even minimal competence on offense. We have players with talent who, as a group, against this competition, should be better than 316th in the Nation. It's the job of the coaches to get the most out of the players and put them in the best position to succeed. It's ironic how significantly this team has underperformed given that the one strength for which Sha has gotten the most credit for over the years is getting more out of less.
