Not a regular reader of The Ringer, but this piece by Kevin Clark on college football nails it. The toothpaste is not going back in the tube. The regular order atop the college football world is virtually unchanged, and for the same reasons. It doesn't focus much on non-power conference programs other than to say that they, for the most part, are left to be what they have always been. It could also follow that weaker programs within power conferences are likely to remain that way.
This column doesn't look at college basketball at all, but the same causes and effects apply. Like it or hate it (and the vast majority of fans don't care one way or the other), none of this is changing.
