1. Does Willard start Gordon again? He did a good job in the first PC game vs. Dunn, but the biggest
damper on Dunn was fouls.

2. Does Desi come out of his end-of-St. John's-game funk? He started the PC game in Providence game
very well.

3. Does Angel return to his pre-Butler game form? If he plays the way he has the last two games, Ben Bentil
eats him up. I'd bet Delgado rallies to the challnege.

4. Who learns more and prepares his team better for the second game of the series: Willard or Cooley?
Willard clearly won this in the first game, though the winning coach just about always does.

Obviously Cooley is the better coach but in spite of kw we should win because of our deeper bench.

Is Cooley's lack of a bench due to his failure in recruiting/preparing his team for and reacting to departures? Or does he get a full pass on program management and lack of a bench?

Why is Cooley the better coach? What does in spite of Coach Willard allude to? Record wise and objectively it seems Coach Willard has done a much better job than Cooley so far. Again your blatant hatred of anything Coach Willard is showing. Shame Shame !

My biggest concern is Providence will be well rested. I think Dunn and Bentil were beginning to wear down. The week off should definitely help them. I think we are the better team, but i am very concerned.

We play great defense. You don't play great team defense based on individual talents. Willard has done a great job getting these guys to play solid team defense. There isn't a team in the country that plays great team defense with a mediocre coach.

Delgado did nt have a bad game Sunday. He was completely screwed by the refs. He actually played super aggressively and picked up 6 boards despite the limited minutes.

Pirated is bigoted troll, but to try and say KW overall is a better coach than Cooley is completely laughable. Also, I'm not sure how much U can fault Cooley for not reacting well to his transfers bc that big he had pulled a super scummy move by announcing his transfer to Cuse in JULY. Not much he can do that that point.

Beat me to the punch but Chukwu's departure came out of nowhere. He had terrific potential and would have had a huge presence in the paint.

Why and how is it obvious Cooley is a better coach? Because he has 2 talents ? He has not been so impressive with his game coaching to make that statement.

Surprised to see that PC was listed in this week's Top 25.... Also Receiving Votes list with a 7-7 mark in the Big East.

For the record, I don't say KW is the better coach. I also think Gibb's departure was an issue for us. But whether Chukwu departed late, or say he was lost for the year due to injury, I see Cooley riding his 2 horses rather than adapting. Not a reflection of his coaching skills, it's a crap hand to be dealt. But some posters here would be killing Cooley for not having depth if they were PC fans.

Providence has been taking on water for a while now. They rely so much on two players. That could be alright in tournament play, but gets challenging over the rigors of a regular season.

They are 2-5 over their past 7, including losses to DePaul and Marquette. The wins are a sweep over Georgetown. No idea if the 8 days off has an affect on them.

Their offense is very limited. Defense is our strength. Let's go.

Kevin Willard has been a mastermind tactician this season and his record proves it. Obviously, many here are in total denial.

Not 1 person can honestly say/think Willard is a better coach than Cooley. Not 1.

KW did a great job of gameplanning against Prov last game...

1) Have AD go as far out (as he can) while guarding Bentil and have nearest defender shade (not commit) to prevent the drive and/or the shot.
2) Start Gordon to not let Dunn get into a rhythm.
3) Let Ish shut down Bullock
4) Let Lomomba beat us with jumpers, and for a while he was hot... Then he was not and the game unraveled for Prov.

It seemed so, so easy up in Prov... Let's hope we see something similar tomorrow.

Providence can't afford a road loss to a top 40 RPI team, especially when they have a favorable schedule the rest of the way? Whatever you say Jon.

I hope Gordon's shot is falling. We're gonna need big minutes out of him vs. Dunn. He was 5-12 in first matchup.

Gordon plays much better on offense when there is no shot blocker on the opposition.

He gets most of his points attacking the basket.

Funny side note: my good friend is a PC alum and he has as many issues and problems with his team tonight as some of us have with ours. Funny when its your team.

I think tonight will be a very hard game. He was just telling me how he thinks SHU is much better than PC and he is worried about them big time

More importantly, I hope Isaiah's shot is falling - because when it is it opens everything else up for us.

My buddy (from PC) was saying the same thing. He does not think PC can win tonight. I went to the PC / Nova game a few weeks back and PC looked really bad. Dunn's shot was off / they didn't run very well (transition).. no one could score... Nova was up 20 early into the 1st half.

I'm feeling real good about tonight.. it's all about the Ds [deflections and defense]

Chukwu made an odd transfer in high school, too, by the way.

In this thread or another, a poster writes he thinks we will win because of our better bench. But other than Gordon, our bench most often is just guys out there giving the starters a rest. I keep waiting for Mikey to show some offense. The next four games are crucial and could go in any number of ways in terms of wins-loses.

If Ish and Mike combine for ten points----even eight---we win all four. And as for DePaul, they are playing at home with house money---or no place to go other than next year and pride. Like St. J's this past Sunday, that could be very dangerous.

Gibbs leaving was not an issue. Everyone knew all season he was leaving.

Rothstein is nuts. If we lose I do not think it will kill us if we finish business in other games. I think we only need 2 wins to get in def and thats without the BET
