Off to horrendous start, making the same mistakes as last night. Terrible perimeter defense, giving guys way too much space and looking lost on who is covering who. No flow to offense again.

Powell turned his ankle.....hope he is OK.

They are doubling Angel every time (off the PF's man(. Angel makes the pass out but there is no 2nd pass. The ball stops flowing. It's the 2nd or 3rd pass that creates the open looks but we have no ball movement.

Why can't we defend the perimeter?
I don't understand the defense we are playing. it is some sort of matchup zone on the perimeter and all it's doing is confusing everyone. Don't know why we don't play tight man D.

Not a big fan of this odd matchup zone. Also leaves them vulnerable to offensive rebounds as they don't box out a specific man. Desi it single-handedly carrying the offense.

This defense sucks.. willard needs to stop messing around.. it doesnt match our team. we arent long we dont have a long pesky macura at the top of the zone.

Body language is so bad. They look uninterested and lethargic. And totally confused in their zone. Quinipiac is outhustling us.

Angel made a nice look to find Powell for the 3.

If willard is a good xs and os coach he will realize that putting mj, mc, or eventually jt at the top of a 1-3-1 defense is a complete joke.

Offensive rebounds keeping us ahead. The zone is going to make me throw up, especially against a team like Quinipiac. We have better players, let them play 1 on 1.

In all fairness Gonzaga didn't look very interested either yesterday either playing this team they didn't really pull away until the last 10 minutes or so

This is a big chance for Nzei and Singh to show they have some potential to grow into real BE players. Also, Eron Gordon will have extra chances, as without Sanogo, SHU will use alot of 3 guard strategies.

If any of these 3 players can show well in the next 60 minutes of this tournament, it is a good tournament for SHU even with the losses.

At least Nzei getting valuable minutes , I think he is close to a double double...he and Desi giving us the lead. I hope Kadeen gets more involved in the 2nd half, we need him to take the game to Q.
Anthony gives up a easy foul and 2 point with 40 seconds left. Gives them additional confidence which they don't need.
AND NO MORE OPEN 3s!!!

Up 7 at the half and it feels like we are down 7.

- Jones not playing well again and Willard has been using KC more at the point

- Khadeen looking tired already. Was one of my biggest concerns coming into the year - asking him to handle the ball, create for others and be the leading scorer. Already looking like he doesn't have his legs under him.

- Don't like the Zone at all but Willard may be doing it to give Khadeen a bit of a breather

- Nzei has stepped up to the plate big time! Off to a so-so at best start to the season, he's answered the call tonight with Ish out and has been a beast with 10 pts and 8 boards

- Desi not looking comfortable from 3 but is unstoppable attacking the hoop

- Angel is truly an enigma. He looks like a great playerfor a few minutes then looks lost. Hoped for more consistency now as an experienced Junior

- Really hope Willard rips into them at Halftime and they come out with energy in the 2nd half. Don't let Quinipiac hang around

Announcer said we had no energy.

After last night's loss you'd think these guys would come out roaring.

We really miss Eric Gordon's on floor motivation.

Absolutely no easy plays. Playing schoolyard ball. Missing a playmaker who makes the bigs look better.

I know you mean Derrick Gordon and you are right. Our veterans don't look good at all. Khadeen, Angel and Desi are suppossed to be our leaders and they just don't seem to have the fire they usually do. The body language and facial expressions are telling.

After I just posted this Powell gives a pass to Anthony inside that we need!

Anthony is soooooo bad. Fouling machine. Powell makes great pass to get him a layup and 3-point play. Then he nullifies it with 2 quick fouls and a 3-point play on defense.

We need a pass first pg like Jones, but the pg also has to be an offensive threat. The pg has to be able to score in the low double digits, on average.

Without the pg being an offensive threat, our offense is playing 4 against 5. The double down on Angel will often come from the defender of our pg. Therefore, our pg must be able to hit open shots consistently, to relax the double teaming of Angel.
