What I don't understand is, why is the oil industry so short sighted? Did they not think that demand would come back?
The deal was good at the time, but why hasn't US production stepped up in response to it? Another factor is we now have an administration in power that wants to punish the oil industry with every chance it gets in order to push the global warming agenda.
I also laugh at the fact that everyone said shutting off Russian oil wouldn't be a big deal because they account for only 7% or something of the supply in the US. Now every story you read on high gas prices mentions the fact that Russian oil was cut off and is the primary reason for high prices. LOL.
All told, this is yet another reason why the economic shutdown of 2020 will go down as one of the biggest blunders ever in human history.
