Strengths:
Tucker's combination of size and developing skill on the wing make him a very intriguing long-term prospect in the class of 2017. He's equally dangerous shooting behind the three-point line or with tough mid-range pull-ups. He handles the ball fluidly and also has an advanced offensive repertoire for a player of his age and size. He'll use a jab step or shake his man off the dribble to get to his pull-up and can also create space in the mid-range area with a step-back. He uses his size and length to score over defenders in the mid-range area and also has a special ability to make tough shots.
Weaknesses:
He's not an elite level athlete and so the hope is that his foot speed and bounce will evolve as he grows into his body. He needs the ball in his hands to make an impact and yet is rarely a threat to go by his man and get all the way to the rim. When he's not making shots he really doesn't have much of an impact on the game right now, especially on the defensive end where he can be limited laterally. He needs to become more consistent, figure out ways to generate easy points for himself, and impact the game in more versatile ways.
Bottom Line:
He's got great size and skill on the perimeter but right at the moment he only puts it together in brief flashes. There's no denying his long-term potential, now it's just a matter of turning it into consistent production.
