remember that VMI team we put a billion points on?

Should never embarrass another team. Let the walkons play if necessary. Pathetic.

well their coach is at The Citadel now and Butler...a team that would be happy winning games in the 50's...put 144 on them tonight. That coaches approach to the game is friggin stupid. At least it is when they play high majors.
I don't believe that's true? Their coach is the son of Lefty Driesell. He was never at VMI. Maybe I have it wrong.

edit: you';re right. Lefty's kid got canned last spring, my apologies.

I always thought that Butler was a program that did it right and had a lot of class but after yesterday's game I can't say that . Nothing ever justifies running up a score like that , a truly classless act.

That may be unfair to say considering the way Citadel is gonna play. Holtmann played all his deep reserves major minutes. If the opposition is gonna grab a rebond and chuck up a shot 5 seconds later, what is Butler supposed to do? Throw the ball out of bounds? I didn't see the game so I don't know how it all went down.

Th y beat em by 73? That's crazy. The Citadel must be terrible.

Just because the Citadel wasn't prepared doesn't mean Butler wasn't! If you don't want to be embarrassed then come prepared to play. Butler was prepared and they played.

When the final buzzer sounded which Big East team do you think was happier with their result the other day, Butler or Georgetown?

I hear u guys about embarrassing the other team, I really do. I watched the game though and my post has more to do with Save Continental's point. They run and gun so quickly that this is what happens when u play a much more talented team.

The style of play of the coach of Citadel leads to this. What is Butler supposed to do, sit on the ball and take a shot clock violation every time? Those who say Butler was classless or shouldn't have "run up the score" don't have a clue in this case.

Butler didn't run it up. Dunham had 22 pots at halftime, finished with 24. The scrubs were putting up double digits.

If the opponent doesn't want to play defense, what is butler supposed to do?
