Around this time last year rumors began that some form of the Patrick School would be moving down to the Princeton area to begin a prep school/basketball academy, similar in nature to Kevin Boyle's Montverde Academy. In fact there were articles written that it was a near done deal.
Unfortunately through my contacts, one who was heavily in consideration for a coaching/teaching position, I probably was the first to break the news here that the deal was dead in the water.
This week I spoke to that same person and asked him if there was any chance the school academy idea would be revisited.
He told me no. At first Chris Chavannes of the Patrick School and the multimillionaire (forgot his name) were step in step on the plan with Mike Rice, Jimmy Carr and my contact running the BB side of the program, but unfortunately Chavannes and the money man had a major falling out (both A type personalities) and the plan was scrubbed.
This would have been a major boon for SHU and Rutgers as the staff along with Chavannes would have worked very hard to keep many of the players in state for college.
