March 2014 on twitter she calls out congress to raise min wage, march 2021 she is a seated member and votes against it....so it was good for her constituency in 2014 but not 2021?

Depends which constituents she cares about....the employees or the employers. A few other variables was she calling for a small raise in min wage or doubling the min wage? Did her state lose a number of businesses and they won't be coming back with higher wage requirements? Lot of variables what was good for her in 2014 may not be good for her today and that's the fear with raising minimum wage. Once you do it....there's huge political ramifications if you decide to change your mind or realize it was wrong.

I caught a couple minutes of news last night and it happened to be Cuomo PrimeTime. A guest noted there was a time congress voted along party lines roughly 60% of the time. Now it's 89%. We have few free thinkers. People like Manchin should be celebrated. If I believed Romney was a free thinker I would think he should be celebrated too, but I think his votes are more of a vendetta than open to different ideas. I would love to know Sinema's thought process if she truly is trying to do good or if there's more to it.

She called for $14 in 2014 which she said was a no brainer.

That said, her vote this time was because she (and others) did not agree this should be pushed through on a reconciliation bill as it is really not budget related. I agree them btw. It is outside of the scope for a budget reconciliation bill.

Good for her. Her people should respect her for that. It's time politics stops being the team game it's been for the last 30 years or so. The initial reaction should be she did the right thing and her constituents should be proud of her, not Republicans have a chance to take her spot. But it's a team sport now, so goes it.

She hides behind her spokesperson, she should come out and say this is reasoning for 2014 stance and where I stand now. Also, was there really a need for her theatrical performance on the senate floor?

Here lies the common issue is that companies want to bring in max, let the top tier of the org split most of that and then spend/value the least on workforce.

You're worried about coca-cola and not Joe the plumber, Joe's pizzeria, or Joe's auto body shop. What happens to their employees? I think you need to start a small hobby business for yourself, get 2 high school aged employees to work for you, and get a clue what average business people deal with. Most of the businesses the employers are probably making between 50-100k. All that does is give big business like coca-cola even more power as it becomes even more challenging for people to start their own business.

Kinda of a non issue for a number of states who have higher min than federal. If we let unlimited migrants in over time becomes more of an issue because a number of them would work for less than $15 gladly to have a job.

There's a difference between raising it (to something reasonable like $10 or $11) and more than doubling it to an extreme $15 level. She is right that it should be raised and she made the right vote yesterday.

Maybe she should have ripped up the bill although its easier to rip the phone book
