BIG EAST Player of the Week
Tabatha Richardson-Smith, Seton Hall, 6-0, Sr., G
The Pirates open BIG EAST play with a 3-0 record thanks in part to Richardson-Smith's dominant week in which she averaged 21.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.0 steals. The senior scored 16 points in The Hall's league-opening win at Providence on Tuesday before going for a season-high 27 points in a New Year's Eve win at Creighton. Against Marquette on Sunday, Richardson-Smith totaled 20 points and eight boards in just 23 minutes of turnover-free action, draining three triples to boot. At 13-1 overall and 3-0 in BIG EAST play, the Pirates are off to their best start in school history. The Seton Hall senior ranks fourth in the BIG EAST in scoring at 16.9 points per game.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Dionna White, Georgetown, 5-5, Fr., G
In her first three BIG EAST contests, White was consistently productive by averaging a Georgetown-best 16.7 points per game to go along with 6.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.0 steals. In the Hoyas' league opener at Xavier on Tuesday, the rookie totaled 11 points and five assists in GU's narrow setback. Two nights later at Butler, White totaled 17 points, nine rebounds, four steals and two dimes. She concluded the week by leading Georgetown to its first BIG EAST win of the year, going for game highs of 22 points and six assists, along with a pair of steals and six rebounds. White leads the BIG EAST in steals per game (2.8) while ranking in the top 10 in both scoring and assists.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Allazia Blockton, Marquette, 6-0, Fr., G
Blockton averaged 19 points, 8.5 rebounds and three assists per game against the league's top two teams, Seton Hall and DePaul. Against the Blue Demons in Tuesday's opener, Blockton went for 24 points, 10 rebounds and three dimes.

Raeshaun Gaffney, Xavier, R-Jr., G
The Musketeers start off league play 2-0 for the first time thanks in part to Gaffney's performances. The redshirt junior averaged 22 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in home wins over Georgetown and Villanova.
Aliyyah Handford, St. John's, 5-9, Sr., G
In a 2-1 week for the Red Storm, Handford averaged 18.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 3.7 steals per contest, including a 23-point, six-steal effort at Providence on New Year's Eve.

Blaire Langlois, Butler, 5-8, Sr., G
In a 1-1 start to BIG EAST play, Langlois averaged 15 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, shooting 50 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from deep. In Tuesday's opener against Villanova, the senior went for 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Megan Podkowa, DePaul, 6-2, Sr., G/F
Podkowa stuffed the stat sheets in a pair of league wins last week, starting with an 11-point, 12-rebound, four-block, three-assist showing against a pesky Marquette squad. She followed that with a career-high 29 points at St. John's on Sunday, adding nine boards and a pair of assists.
