NEW YORK - Senior guard Kadary Richmond (Brooklyn, N.Y.) has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after averaging 18.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 6.0 steals per game in a 1-1 week for the Seton Hall men's basketball team.

Richmond now has two BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll appearances this season.

Richmond played an instrumental role in the Pirates' 75-60 victory over No. 5 UConn on Dec. 20 at Prudential Center. He put up 23 points, grabbed six rebounds, dished out five assists and tied a program record with eight steals in 34 minutes. He also went 7-of-7 from the free throw line and he committed only two turnovers against the Huskies. The last Pirate to collect eight steals in a game was Fuquan Edwin against Eastern Washington on Sept. 22, 2013.

In the loss at Xavier, Richmond tallied four more steals to go along with 13 points, eight rebounds and two assists.

Seton Hall will return to action on Jan. 3 as the Pirates travel to No. 25 Providence for a 6:30 p.m. contest on FS1. The Pirates are back at Prudential Center on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024 for another tough BIG EAST test against No. 6 Marquette. Secure your seats today!

Average 23 points and 8.5 boards while your team wins two games?

Go beat Providence like we roasted them last year - that was very satisfying as we were at the game when Cooley was spreading family love to his players while his home was up for sale and he was out the door to GT.

Would love Kooks and gang to cook up a post New Year's special! The team and coaches have enough time to prepare to surprise.

Let's go, Ryan, scout this one well and get the kids all on the same page.

Richmond is playing very well. Like we discussed here all summer, he fills a box score. He’s not a top scorer bc the outside shot is nonexistent but he does a lot for this team and rarely gets any consistent help or flow around him.

I think it would also help if he sped up the offense more. There’s a lot of dribbling.

This. When the Hall doesn't push the ball, the offense stagnates with a lot of stationary players. The possession clock runs down and now it's advantage for the D. When the UConn women were dominant, their offense was always uptempo, even in the half court.

We shot .667 from 2PT, .556 from 3PT in a 24-point win. Dre Davis was 9/10 from the floor for 24 points. If we could only replicate that!
