A great Pirate & a great pro. Member of National Basketball Hall of Fame. Played and coached for Rochester Royals (now known as the Sacrimento Kings). RIP.
Bobby played men's basketball for the Pirates for two years, helping The Hall to a 40-5 record in those two seasons. He went on to have an illustrious career in the NBA, helping the Rochester Royals win the 1951 NBA Championship.
Bobby was inducted into the Seton Hall Athletics Hall of Fame in 1974 and his No. 8 uniform was retired in 1987. He was also inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987 and the New York City Basketball Hall of Fame in 1991.
LITTLE BIT OF TRIVIA: Bobby Wanzer & Bob Davies both Seton Hall grads and NBA Hall of Famers were the Rochester Royals backcourt mates. Their backup at the guard spots was future Knicks Coaching Great Red Holtzman.
