Tonight Creighton beat Georgetown at home , and Butler had a hard time taking DePaul on the road.

On the other hand, in a shocker Marquette eeked out a win over Providence on the road. Big East is a Beast. There are no "givens". Frank

I was really shocked the way Providence let that one slip away. They gave Marquette life in the 6-7 minute range of the 2nd half by committing 3 (i think) consecutive fouls when Marquette was in the double bonus and then a succession of turnovers and poor offense opened the door.

The last possession was terrible (Willard would have been killed for that). Providence doesn't appear to have consistent outside shooting (the freshman shooter is just coming back from injury I think and did not look good) and Marquette packed in a zone and shut down Dunn's penetration.

Thanks for the rundown. I wish I had seen Providence game. Didn't realize Big East games that were on tonight. Will have to check in on FS1 more regularly. Frank

Teams need to bring their A game every night. But in a long season that rarely ever happens and the result is often an inferior team coming out with a win.

Tonight is good as ever to prove your point! GOHALL!!!

Big East is a monster this year. I don't think you can really expect a sweep over anyone except St. John's. Obviously the good teams will separate themselves (i.e. win @ Marquette), but a .500 record isn't something to scoff at.

Another reason the opener in Marquette was impressive. This team has had a ton of trouble winning on the road in recent years.
