Tough season how though? Outside of low IQ/casual fans I think most people know a team built around 2 freshmen is not a recipe for success in an era when teams are older than ever. Look at Auburn’s starting lineup - 25 year old, two 24 year old, two 23 year old.

Look back at my post history from preseason. I said could Rutgers be good? Absolutely. Do I expect them to be good? No.

Faced st johns after not playing regular season in old config then gtown a 3rd time...then fast reality check against troy bell and BC and then the season was finished less than a week later. I believe it was a monday NIT game at Alabama

Blue Book or The Athletic had them preseason #15 in the B1G but many of RU’s delusional fans thought they’d get to the FF. But hey they beat us on a buzzer beater bomb so turnabout is fair play.

we we #1 in a preseason pick by some clown magazine back then. And while they arent doing as well as hoped, the two stars are still killing it, at least in the NBA draft picks. And no troubles like we had, as they have an experienced coach. The loss to RU at RU that season was so bad. My son had a game, so I went to my car at halftime. We had started to give back that nice lead and I went back to the gym with the sinking feeling that we would lose. For once I was right, damn it.
