Can’t wait for the Mitch McConnell hypocrisy.
Sad to hear about her passing.
Can’t wait for the Mitch McConnell hypocrisy.
You can be sure all of the Senate races that are up for grabs in November are scrambling right now because this will now be THE front and center issue.RIP to RBG. While one can agree or disagree with her jurisprudence or politics, her life story is iconic, particularly for women in America and the blatant discrimination they faced.
The Court is healthiest when there's a debate. That's the whole point. You can bet your paycheck the Republicans will try to ram someone through. McConnell is a politician - the longer they're in DC the worse they get - so you can forget this talk of commonality of standard or precedent or working across the aisle. Those days are long gone. Please. We'll see how it plays out with the public considering RBG became a cultural figure and many Senators will be in tough races too.
You can be sure all of the Senate races that are up for grabs in November are scrambling right now because this will now be THE front and center issue.
33 senate races and 2 more special elections it is always importantYou can be sure all of the Senate races that are up for grabs in November are scrambling right now because this will now be THE front and center issue.
This is bad precedent...this should wait nothing should be rushed for currently political landscape. The voting population will determine what lawmakers they want to approve the next justice on the court.Have the confirmation vote around thanksgiving.I understand some will be upset if Biden wins
and Trump appoints new justice, but Dems would do it if shoe was on other foot. When the senate
is controlled by opposite party nominees don’t proceed in election year that is our history and our
politics.Dems will make move to increase the size of Supreme Court If Biden wins and they control
senate either way.It is called court packing. It didn’t work for FDR ,but I think they will try it again.
If they are successful assisted suicide likely becomes law of the land something I think most if
not all on this board are opposed to.
There has to be a good fine line between religion and law policy, I understand this.I believe as a catholic assisted suicide is wrong ,I understand and respect the position that it is ok.The precedent of not
allowing a vote by senate that is opposite party from president is about 200 years old and sure it can be changed.
How long will CitizensUnited precedent last if Dems pack the Supreme Court ,not long and that’s politics.
That was almost immediate. He made a statement they would bring a nominee to vote maybe an hour after her death was announced. #2020.
If they are successful assisted suicide likely becomes law of the land something I think most if

I disagree, I see both parties trying to use her death for political gain.Seems like political suicide to do that before the election.
Trump has to tread very carefully here. If he plays it right, he can narrow the gap in the polls. But there is a lot that can go wrong on his end. He does have every right to put forward a nomination, just as Obama did in 2016, because he's the president, elections have consequences and the Constitution calls for him to do his job.
On the other hand, he can thank that swamp creature from Kentucky for the political firestorm he is about to enter. I'm curious if this has an effect on McConnell's race as well. He is up for re-election. I don't know how anyone can like that guy.
Trump has been good on this so far. His written statement and live comments at the airport were disciplined. He has handled each of his previous two nominations with discipline as well, so I expect his team to do their due diligence on this one as well.
I will say there is without a doubt no bigger POS than Mitch McConnell, given his flip flopping on the issue.
The clueless include the people who think that Trump is somehow going to steal the court. so called conservative judges have gone against trump on many occasions, which is GOOD. the left side of the bench however goes left every single time. what’s best for our country is for trump/senate to get a moderate in there because the left will just put another Kagan on the bench who will never be objective.RIP. She was a tireless servant to her country and the law.
No way we have appointment before the election.
However, it will be part of the decision for some independents. For, the clueless, this will have no affect.
McConnell is an ass clown, but the Dems also showed their colors with the Kavanaugh circus. While he is a gigantic douche, there are equal hypocritical douches on the democrap side as well.
Just because "I Am Not A Democrap But I Only Post Republicant Tweets So I Really Am A Democrap" NYShoreguy doesn't post their hypocritical views doesn't mean they don't exist.
Kamala certainly did.McConnell is an ass clown, but the Dems also showed their colors with the Kavanaugh circus.
His live comments may have been the most genuine thing he’s said. If he showed more of that and less of his rehearsed bully act and always on attack he’d be in a much better place.Trump has to tread very carefully here. Kagen is actually pretty moderate overall. The one judge that you can say is more left is SotomayorThe clueless include the people who think that Trump is somehow going to steal the court. so called conservative judges have gone against trump on many occasions, which is GOOD. the left side of the bench however goes left every single time. what’s best for our country is for trump/senate to get a moderate in there because the left will just put another Kagan on the bench who will never be objective.
i hope most of the board isnt antiquated like you and realizes pro assisted suicide is the only moral thing to do.If they are successful assisted suicide likely becomes law of the land something I think most if
not all on this board are opposed to.
ill give you the point that she respects precedent more than her liberal colleagues but I can’t think of a single example where she broke from the left on a political issue.Kagen is actually pretty moderate overall. The one judge that you can say is more left is Sotomayor
This is the exact attitude that sucks today. If someone disagree with you they are antiquated or immoral...i hope most of the board isnt antiquated like you and realizes pro assisted suicide is the only moral thing to do.
basing your position on a book written thousand years ago is antiquated. making somebody suffer is torture. torture immoral. assisted suicide isnt a free pass to kill yourself. This is the exact attitude that sucks today. If someone disagree with you they are antiquated or immoral...

Yea, one is entitled to know exactly what’s best for everyone and it’s wise for one to assume certain people think a certain way.basing your position on a book written thousand years ago is antiquated. making somebody suffer is torture. torture immoral. assisted suicide isnt a free pass to kill yourself.
he also spoke for "most of it not all the board" so i have no problem with how i responded.
also, spare me the part about disagreeing. the people that disagree with the hivemind on this board are hammered for their opinions. classic case of dish it but cant take it.
I’m not sure how you define a political issue but I am pretty sure you are incorrect on this. Pretty famous case of the baker that would not make a wedding cake to a gay couple. Kagen joined the conservative justices in that decision. I don’t pretend to be a Supreme Court scholar but that case stuck in my head.ill give you the point that she respects precedent more than her liberal colleagues but I can’t think of a single example where she broke from the left on a political issue.
