RIP to RBG. While one can agree or disagree with her jurisprudence or politics, her life story is iconic, particularly for women in America and the blatant discrimination they faced.
The Court is healthiest when there's a debate. That's the whole point. You can bet your paycheck the Republicans will try to ram someone through. McConnell is a politician - the longer they're in DC the worse they get - so you can forget this talk of commonality of standard or precedent or working across the aisle. Those days are long gone. Please. We'll see how it plays out with the public considering RBG became a cultural figure and many Senators will be in tough races too.

This is bad precedent...this should wait nothing should be rushed for currently political landscape. The voting population will determine what lawmakers they want to approve the next justice on the court.
If someone is terminally ill and suffering by pain on a daily basis in the grand scheme does it matter if they alter what their natural death is going to be?

There has to be a good fine line between religion and law policy, I understand this.

Trying to remove politics and polarization from the court is another thing that drew me towards Buttigieg.
I was actually going to post that it would make a lot of sense for Trump to say he will wait until after the election to let the voters have a say which would have made him appear reasonable... but he is pushing for a replacement “without delay”

I don't know if this would pass or not, but why are you against providing a terminally ill person the freedom to do as they wish? Curious to hear your reasoning.
Trump has to tread very carefully here. If he plays it right, he can narrow the gap in the polls. But there is a lot that can go wrong on his end. He does have every right to put forward a nomination, just as Obama did in 2016, because he's the president, elections have consequences and the Constitution calls for him to do his job.
On the other hand, he can thank that swamp creature from Kentucky for the political firestorm he is about to enter. I'm curious if this has an effect on McConnell's race as well. He is up for re-election. I don't know how anyone can like that guy.

McConnell is an ass clown, but the Dems also showed their colors with the Kavanaugh circus.
His live comments may have been the most genuine thing he’s said. If he showed more of that and less of his rehearsed bully act and always on attack he’d be in a much better place.

I’m not sure how you define a political issue but I am pretty sure you are incorrect on this. Pretty famous case of the baker that would not make a wedding cake to a gay couple. Kagen joined the conservative justices in that decision. I don’t pretend to be a Supreme Court scholar but that case stuck in my head.
