It has recently come to my attention that our corporate sponsorship with RWJBH has evolved so that they actually now ARE the "official healthcare provider of Seton Hall Athletics." This is interesting, because they really took over RU athletics, making most, if not all, of the medical staff there (doctors, trainers, PT's, etc) employees of RWJBH. They also built rutgers a pretty damn nice training facility. I'm wondering if this new partnership is going to bear fruit as far as NIL money goes. And I am hopeful that similar discussions are being had with Prudential and JAG Physical Therapy. Just a thought, but there has to be more to this than a simple care agreement. Let's hope!

Look around at the Rock or whatever spot where you see SHU athletics and all the ad sponsors and ask the similar question. I’d like to know when we’d be able to start putting sponsorship patches on players uniforms and that ad $ can go into a fund for revenue sharing with the players. This is the stuff that needs to be figured out and cultivated if SHU is going to have any chance of surviving in the new world of College Athletics.

The CEO is Mark Manigan, who grew up in Maplewood.

His father is Ed Manigan, who was the long-time football coach at Seton Hall until the school dropped the sport.

Sounds good, but then again, the school didn’t exactly handle that whole situation very well. Could any of that mean anything? Who knows, but an interesting connection nonetheless.

that was 40 years ago, though. They got a major chip in caring for ru and SHU athletics...what is the pro quo?

Not saying there is a grudge or not…. I have no idea. Just pointing out that there is a family connection to SHU. I also think Mark is a SHU Law grad.

They paid $13 mil of the $115 mil. price tag to put their logo on it and be the Healthcare system of Rutgers Athletics, they pay nothing in NIL. This is not the whale you are looking for.
