Say what Trump?

Oh look someone on twitter trying to drum up controversy when there isn't any. Listen to the clip. Talking in Trumpian fashion for sure, but he's actually praising healthcare workers. Lazy people won't know that from reading the tweet itself.

I'm waiting for discussions on Flynn, and Obama's flexibility with the Russians, unmasking American citizens,Clapper, Comey, Brennan, and Dr. Mikovits. Instead all I see is this TDS crap. Life of off the Ship truly is a vast wasteland, a good place to ignore.

Is something preventing you from starting a thread on topics you would like to see discussed?

By all means, feel free. I’m more than willing to discuss any of the topics mentioned.

Florida has been open for 11 days now with no more/no less cases than before reopening.

that’s all well and good... but it’s going to take a lot more than 11 days to understand the impact of reopening. It takes that long to develop symptoms of you become symptomatic at all.

Entirely possible the people there take it seriously enough and there is not a spike in hospitalizations and deaths... but will probably take another month before we know.

3 weeks ago 14 day continuous improvement was good enough but now it’s 11 days plus another month?

I think Murphy’s plan of a 14 day continuous improvement and doubling the testing capacity is reasonable but should have been more quantifiable. We are in the middle of those improvements now. He should have provided some expectation of a timeline.

Not what I was saying. I do believe it is time to reopen NJ, but I am not going to wait 11 days to say we were right or wrong. That will take time. Same as in Florida. I'm not saying they were wrong in reopening, I just think it takes a lot of time to understands what is happening because of the long incubation period. 11 days is really just not enough time.

It took a full month from when we first knew it was in NJ to when we started seeing more than 10-20 deaths per day.

I'm hopeful we see positive results from Florida but it's too early to say its working.

Apologies. Would an annual post maniacally worshipping the nonsense hallunications of some children decades ago be more to your liking? Btw, make sure you book one of your cruises as soon as possible now that they're accepting bookings again & clearly a smart & very very safe way to vacation going forward. I'm sure they'd love to see you.

It's called goal post moving and it's being done in mostly blue states. The curve was flattened as they wanted, but now they don't want to open unless there is a vaccine which very well may never happen.

Yup, entirely political at this point. Keep the economy down as long as possible to ensure DT doesn't get re-elected. It's plainly obvious to anyone who looks at facts and data without bias.

Nobody should accept any "new normal." Nobody. Don't let them get away with it.

It's also interesting that a company from California claimed yesterday that it has an antibody that flushes the virus out of your system within four days. This is a claim that must be vetted, but why isn't it anywhere in mainstream news? The reason is it doesn't fit their agenda.

That company's stock went up 158% yesterday. Investors heard the news, why hasn't the public? Either this is the news people have been looking for or one massive case of stock market manipulation.

If you are talking politics only, If Trump were to come out and support a short term UBI, I think he would probably win 2020 fairly easily.

A national crisis doesn't hurt a president unless they handle it poorly. It creates opportunity for them to connect with people and offer sympathy and empathy. Unfortunately sociopaths are incapable of empathy.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—At his press conference last night, President Trump told everyone to stay hydrated and drink lots of water.

"Water's tremendous, very powerful stuff," he said. "You won't believe the things they can do with water. Water balloons. Water slides. Water beds. It's amazing. You can freeze it and make ice, I'm told. Ice is great for lots of things. Ice cream. Ice cubes. Igloos."

"Anyway, drink water."

Horrified journalists scrambled to warn Americans not to drown themselves in their pools and bathtubs.

"Trump says water is good -- but this is very misleading," said Rachel Maddow. "Did you know that water kills many people every year? These dangerous, unhinged remarks from the president could cause many to drown themselves. Plus, do you know what's hidden in water? Sharks. This president wants you to die from a shark attack!"

Representatives for various bottled water companies quickly released a statement distancing themselves from the president's remarks and warning everyone not to submerge themselves in the ocean for minutes at a time.

The market is always ahead of the news. That's not new.

but as you said, the claim must be vetted... so hopefully journalists are vetting the story and we will see more about it soon?
Huge if true, so I hope that is the case.

This has nothing to do with what I said. It's crystal clear at this point that the democrats are holding the economy hostage. The virus isn't a major threat anymore, it has been snuffed out in NY/NJ and some other areas. Democratic governors are keeping their states closed and I have no doubt the party is fine with that. The reason being it delays economic reopening as long as possible, which hurts Trump at the ballot box.

The point is the economic toll doesn't have to hurt Trump at all, and if managed correctly could have helped his chances.

At the end of this we still need to recover. NJ is going to be faced with a major economic problem when this is done. You think Murphy wants that as a hurdle next year when he is up for reelection?

Doesn't make much sense to me, a power hungry guy like Murphy risking his political future to possibly hurt Trump?

Murphy isn't risking anything. He's a Democrat in NJ and he knows it. He will be re-elected, sadly.

You say that like a republican did not win 2 of the last 3 elections.

If NJ voters believe he hurt the economy to hurt Trump, then he won’t win next year.

I don’t agree with your assessment that this is about Trump, and I don’t think Murphy risks his political career to hurt Trump.

As time goes by and people have a chance to study and understand the decisions, frustration is building. One of the guys I played golf today; his wife owns a small clothing store. Normally one or two shoppers. Her business has been ruined. Another guys brother owns a mom and pop hardware store. He had to close but Lowe’s and Home Depot are open.

Murphy had the easiest election in ages as kim's chance as a true candidate disappeared in the christie narrative

Hardware Stores are essential businesses and were never forced to close.

Every job is essential (except K Street lobbyists).

Mandrake, have you never wondered why I drink only distilled water, or rain water, and only pure-grain alcohol?

Man: Stearns Bear, Ricky speaking. How may I help you?

Rupert: Good morning, Richard.

Richard: Good morning, sir. How are you? How’s your mom?

Rupert: We haven’t spoken. She is intubated.

Richard: I’m so sorry. Do the doctors think she can pull through?

Rupert: She is 75+ and high risk. I am not afraid if she dies. She’s had a good life. Now tell me, did you buy the stock in Sorrento Therapeutics?

Richard: Yes, sir. Your position is up 125% today.

Rupert: Not good enough. The stock is up 158% overall. You know my standing orders are for you to find companies that are curing COVID-19. I fear the MSM is keeping the truth from us.

Richard: I will do better, sir. The good news is this announcement was extensively reported but with over 100 different companies making claims, sometimes it is difficult to keep up.

Rupert: Not good enough. I want them all. I fear missing out.

Richard: Understood, sir. They are still in pre-clinical so if the results are positive we will have time to increase our position. Hopefully, we will have a vaccine soon.

Rupert: I will not be getting a vaccine. I fear them.

Richard: Have a good afternoon, sir.
