I don't mind the weekend night games.

I love 'em. Games that start at 7 are completely out for me. There's no way I can make it. But 8:30 or 9? I'm home mega-late, but I can make it.

When you work late, have no kids, and a wife that will take the opportunity to watch real housewives when you're not around, it's a win-win all around.

South Orange, N.J. – The BIG EAST has released its 2015-16 men’s basketball conference schedule and its overall full schedule of game times and television assignments, and every Seton Hall men’s basketball game will once again be on national television, beginning Nov. 13 against Dartmouth at Prudential Center.

The highlight of the television schedule is an appearance on the FOX national network on Saturday, Dec. 19 at noon when the Pirates host WichitaState at Prudential Center.

The conference schedule is a round-robin, 18-game slate featuring nine home games at Prudential Center. The Pirates will begin on the road, taking on Marquette on Wednesday, Dec. 30 at 7 p.m., Eastern on FS1. Three days later, The Hall will host its BIG EAST home opener against DePaul at 11 a.m. on FS1, which will be the first game of the BIG EAST/FOX Marathon.

Seton Hall’s annual Prudential Center clash with Villanova is set for Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 9 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. The Pirates topped a nationally-ranked Wildcats squad last season, 66-61, in overtime at a sold-out Prudential Center.

The Pirates will have a three-game homestand to open February, hosting Marquette on Wednesday, Feb. 3 (8:30 p.m., FS1), Georgetown on Saturday, Feb. 6 (9 p.m., CBS Sports Network) and Butler on Wednesday, Feb. 10 (7 p.m., FS1).

For only the 19th time in the historic series, Seton Hall and St. John’s will battle at Madison Square Garden in a game set for Sunday, Feb. 21 at noon on FS1. The Pirates and Red Storm have met 93 times in the history of the two basketball programs.

The home schedule wraps up with Providence on Thursday, Feb. 25 (7 p.m., FS1) and Xavier on Sunday, Feb. 28 (12:30 p.m., FS1).

Season tickets to the 15 games at Prudential Center are on sale now, and individual game tickets will go on sale in October. Season tickets start at just $153 and offer the best value for Pirates fans. Season ticket holders receive the best seats, get priority access to BIG EAST Tournament tickets, receive special invitations to private events and also get access to other events at Prudential Center such as concerts and Devils games.

The later starts lead to later nights for sure, but getting to Newark at 7PM on a weekday is really tough.

This is a very fair schedule. Nothing to complain about.

Games evenly spaced except for the Nov tournament. And only 2 games consecutively on the road at any time.

BIG EAST Reveals 2015-16 Men’s Basketball Schedule

St. John’s 31-Game Slate Finalized with Conference Schedule Announcement

Web release: http://www.redstormsports.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/090815aab.html

QUEENS, N.Y. (Sept. 8, 2015) – The St. John’s men’s basketball team finalized its 31-game schedule for 2015-16 on Tuesday with the BIG EAST’s public release of the conference slate with game times. The league’s broadcast schedule was also revealed and features a full lineup of BIG EAST and non-conference home games delivered through its partnership with FOX Sports. The Red Storm will have 28 games nationally televised and 30 of its 31 contests will be available on a broadcast platform. The remainder of the St. John’s broadcast schedule, including exhibitions, will be announced soon.

St. John’s will play 10 of its 17 home games on weekend dates and will have seven contests at Madison Square Garden this season. For the third-straight year, the Red Storm will kick off BIG EAST action on New Year’s Eve as St. John’s takes on Creighton at Carnesecca Arena on FS1.

The Red Storm will hit the road for two of the next three games beginning with Providence on Jan. 2 for the league’s annual New Year’s Marathon on FS1. All 10 teams will be in action for a full day of BIG EAST hoops from 11 a.m. to midnight. The Johnnies are back in Queens on Jan. 6 for a matchup with Xavier before heading to Milwaukee to square off with Marquette on Jan. 9.

St. John’s stays in the metropolitan area for four of its next five games. Archrival Georgetown visits Madison Square Garden on Jan. 13. The Red Storm and Hoyas have split their regular-season contests the past two years. St. John’s prevailed, 81-70, in their last meeting on Feb. 28, 2015 at “The World’s Most Famous Arena” in a memorable Senior Day performance.

After visiting Butler on Jan. 16, the Johnnies have a week to recharge before hosting Marquette at MSG on Jan. 23. St. John’s makes the short trip to the Prudential Center to face Seton Hall on Jan. 27. Then on Jan. 31, FOX broadcast network will carry the Red Storm’s first contest with reigning BIG EAST champion Villanova at Madison Square Garden.

St. John’s will be tested by its conference schedule at the beginning of February with road games at fellow 2015 NCAA Tournament participants Xavier (Feb. 3), Georgetown (Feb. 8) and Villanova (Feb. 13). A meeting with Butler in Queens on Feb. 6 is mixed into the tough 11-day stretch.

The Red Storm wraps up the regular-season with three of its last five games at home. St. John’s has DePaul on Feb. 17 at Carnesecca Arena and then Seton Hall on Feb. 21 at Madison Square Garden. The Johnnies travel to Chicago for the second meeting with the Blue Demons (Feb. 25) in eight-days before heading to Omaha to round out the two-game road trip at Creighton (Feb. 28). St. John’s hosts Providence at The Garden on March 5 for its final tune-up before the 2016 BIG EAST Tournament.

The Red Storm’s non-conference schedule features eight home dates, including a meeting with Syracuse on Dec. 13 at Madison Square Garden. Chris Mullin makes his coaching debut on Nov. 13 versus Wagner at Carnesecca Arena, which is followed by a contest with UMBC (Nov. 16). St. John’s also hosts Rutgers (Nov. 19) as part of the inaugural Gavitt Tipoff Games.

St. John’s makes its first-ever appearance in the Maui Invitational from Nov. 23-25. The Johnnies open the tournament against Vanderbilt and will then face either Indiana or Wake Forest. The opposite side of the Maui Invitational bracket features Kansas, UCLA, UNLV and tournament host Chaminade.

The Red Storm has St. Francis (N.Y.) on Dec. 6 in the Madison Square Garden Holiday Festival. Niagara (Dec. 9), Incarnate Word (Dec. 18) and NJIT (Dec. 20) will also visit Carnesecca Arena.

The Hall of Fame Shootout is set for Dec. 22 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., where the Red Storm will take on South Carolina. St. John’s lone non-conference road game is against Fordham on Dec. 2.

The BIG EAST Tournament runs from March 9-12 at Madison Square Garden. FS1 will televise the entire tournament.

I don't see many wins but maybe that's good since I used to see 8 to 10 possible wins a year in the big east

We leave the tri-state area exactly 1 time in the month of February (allllll the way to DC on 2/17). Need to take care of business

Could not have asked for a more fair schedule.

It's all in front of the team now.

The team also gets a couple of week off between games .We play Creighton at home on 1/9 and are off till the 16th when we play at PC . The second week off is when we play Butler at home on 2/10 and then travel to play GT on 2/17. The breaks are always good to give the players a break from the grind and give the body a chance to rejuvinate itself.

Very fair schedule and no one, including the staff should use it as an excuse if we don't have success this season.

Like the schedule. I am glad we get MSG as that is a super easy commute for me from Hoboken as opposed to CA which can be annoying. Love the later night starts as it allows me to get to arena and get a couple beers before game.

Love the big schedule for us. Hate that the 2nd game of the year is at Walsh. Play that during the holidays or exam week. That means the team will have only played 1 game at the rock before Georgia.

All in all, the schedule is pretty good. Hoping to see some wins.

Put me with the group that prefers the later start times.
