McCabe, Deputy Director of FBI gets fired 2 days before from when he was eligible for early retirement. Trump has tweeted out before that he wanted him fired before he gets full retirement benefits. If the 2 days effect this man's pension in any way, this is a horrible vindictive move against a man who dedicated himself to law enforcement.

Dictator in chief.

Dumb vindictive move. Hope it is referenced in the eventual articles of impeachment.

Two panels within the FBI reviewed what he did and both decided that firing him was the right thing to do. Were they induced to do so by crazy Trump? Doesn't seem to be the way the FBI works but no one can be sure. But if two panels reviewed what he did and ruled that he was not being truthful then that is a problem that must be dealt with.

I have no idea what the truth is anymore but hard to get upset if in fact both those panels recommended that he get fired. The FBI should not be running to the press about stuff. Just not what they should be doing and I cannot stand Trump but I'm not so sure about this one. Sessions has also come out strongly against Trump explaining why he took a step back in the Russian investigation and he is correct in recusing himself in spite of what Trump says. And Sessions is the guy that pulled the trigger. On this one I would not be so quick to rush to judgement. The press is all upset about it but the facts seem to tell a different story.

Now Trump should not be tweeting about this constantly because he makes it look terrible and that he had something to do with it. Twitter is his enemy and it's gonna come back and bite him.

Isolated within a bubble that can ignore Trump's tweets, I would tend to agree with you.

Unfortunately, we do have Trump's tweets which can't be ignored for context here.Trump did not wait for an IG report to go after McCabe. Trump has been talking about firing him for months.

And Sessions is the guy that pulled the trigger.

Sessions had previously recused himself in all matters related to the campaigns for President. Not sure why he changed his mind on this one.

None of us know what the IG report says, so it is definitely fair that you wouldn't rush to judgement.
Though, given the presidents record of the events through twitter - It is hard to imagine this was anything other than some kind of petty revenge. (although - they probably added a zero or two to McCabe's eventual book deal)

112. Please. Unless he committed a crime, there is no government entity that would fire an employee 2 days before retirement. As a matter of fact, they would consider it a favor that the person retired. This was purely a vindictive hit job by the petty president and his lap dog Sessions. It’s disgraceful.

And if it comes out that he did commit a crime?

No one has alleged a crime.

The issue is that he allowed someone to speak to the press, and lacked candor in discussions with investigators about that. (Not a crime, though lacking can

McCabe alleges he had the authority to make decisions about speaking to the press and did so regularly.

We obviously don’t know anything about if he lacked candor or not. No reason to believe the IG is lying, though the speed of his firing does appear out of the ordinary from what I have read, and similar reports have been filed after FBI personnel were retired.

Again, had the president not been spouting off against McCabe on twitter for months, we wouldn’t be taking about this.

Given the facts as we know them, the timing of his firing appears to be political revenge best case and worst case, an attempt to discredit McCabe as a cooboratung witness.

If you play politics hard and politics comes back to bite you in the ass... To me the FBI and Justice Dept have lost a lot of respect in this situation, the Comey situation, looking the other way with Hillary, Lorretta Lynch on the tarmac talking to Billy boy etc. They should be seen and not heard much more than what has occurred in the last few years and the current and past AGs have a lot to do with that as well. No doubt a sad state of affairs in the current and last administration.

Maybe we should wait for the IG report. There are clearly issues in the FBI, and even their own havd an issue with McCabe.

Comey didn't look the other way, his opinion was that there was not enough to charge Hillary with anything. He spoke publicly about it because he believed the investigation would have appeared tainted if the DOJ concluded on their own at the time because of the Lynch / Clinton meeting.

The DOJ still would be free to charge Clinton if they saw fit to do so.
We can guess as to why they haven't, but my guess is because they know Comey was right. Multiple Trump aids are using private e-mail and encrypted messaging apps.

The issue with McCabe was that he sent his staff to tell reporters that the investigation into the Clinton Foundation was still ongoing. A fact that was not helpful to Clinton, and an attempt to refute claims of what you are suggesting above.

I don't really have strong opinions on the firing especially without knowing how common was this type of practice from the FBI... but this does appear to be more about retaliation against someone Trump did not like than anything else. Even Napolitano said this was a bad move.
