- This week, senior All-America candidate Myles Powell (Trenton, N.J.) was named to the John R. Wooden Award Men’s Late Season Top 20 Watch List, a Senior CLASS Award Finalist and a Jerry West Award Top 10 Finalist.
- Powell is averaging 28.6 points per game in BIG EAST road games this season.
INSIDE THE SERIES: VILLANOVA
- Seton Hall will face Villanova for the 118th time on Saturday.
- Villanova is Seton Hall’s most frequently played opponent in program history.
- Saturday will be the first time that both teams will play one another while ranked in the AP Top-25.
- The two teams split the regular season series last year with the Pirates coming away with the 79-75 win at the Prudential Center on Michael Nzei’s senior day (3/9/19).
- Recently, the two school have had some classic games in the BIG EAST Tournament where the last four meetings have been decided by two points or fewer.
- After not being able to score 20 points against Villanova in his first six career games, Myles Powell has scored 20 and 25 points in his last two games against the Wildcats.

- Senior All-America Candidate Myles Powell (Trenton, N.J.) is averaging 22.0 points per game, an average that ranks ninth in Division I and second in the BIG EAST, and he’s averaging 24.1 points in the 18 games he’s been able to finish.
- His 2.9 made three-pointers per game rank third in the conference.
- Against St. John’s (1/18/20), Powell became only the fifth Seton Hall player to score 2,000 points (Greg Tynes, Jeremy Hazell, Nick Werkman, Terry Dehere) and the sixth player to score 1,000 points in BIG EAST games (Dehere, Hazell, Mark Bryant, Andre McCloud, Khadeen Carrington).
- On Jan. 8, Powell was named to the Wooden Award Midseason Top 25, chosen by a poll of national college basketball experts based on the players’ performances during the first half of the season.
- At the Battle 4 Atlantis, Powell set the single- tournament scoring record with 74 total points and he registered the third-most points scored in a B4A contest with his 32-point performance vs. Oregon (11/27/19).
- Powell is steadily making his way up Seton Hall’s all-time scoring and three-point charts.
