Every thread on this board no matter what the topic, ends up as a Willard bashing party.

There is a group of posters on this board who possess no appreciation whatsoever for what they have, and refuse not only to let themselves enjoy the team, but make it almost impossible for anybody else to enjoy this board.

It is hard to believe this fan base has any love for the Hall when they could care less how they influence possible recruits; and show not a modicum of restraint in denigrating players, coach and university.

It amazes me how such class acts like Tom and Dan can continue to expend the effort required to maintain this board for such distasteful and unappreciative fans.

Frank

N.B. During these past few years, I have posted less and less on the board. I now realize this is a mistake. From now on, I am going to respond to every distasteful and mean-spirited post with the appropriate retort so we can add some balance to this board.

I have always been very diplomatic in not finger pointing, but from now on i am going to call out each and every one of you scoundrels that have been filling me with dread to come on this board. How you guys respond to me makes no difference to me because I have come to lose more and more respect to you misanthropes; and you all know who you are as do the more dignified and responsible posters on this board.

Everything that's going on in this royally screwed up world today and we're calling people demented for...complaining about a basketball coach? Good grief.

Quite possibly the most sanctimonious post I have read in quite some time. If coming to the board fills you with dread, you must have wrapped yourself in a castle high a top a hill to insulate yourself from all the real "dread" there is in the world. Get a grip

The fans on this board whether you like them or not are the most ardent supporters of Seton Hall basketball and most of us are season ticket holders. So please tell me what should we appreciate? It's Been so long to appreciate something here. We are all waiting for a winning team here. Can you blame anyone for being inpatient at this point?

All we ask here is for everyone to be open minded. The extremes of Willard does everything right to Willard does everything wrong tells us more about the poster than Seton Hall's head coach.

No one is perfect. We all make mistakes and that includes Kevin Willard.

If you question something he does, fine, bring it here to debate. But conversely when he does something positive that too should be pointed out.

Let me see if I can figure this out.

It begins with a poster criticizing our head coach.

Then we have a poster complaining about the poster who criticized our head coach.

Then we have a poster complaining about the poster who complained about the poster who criticized our head coach..

Will we now get to the next level of having a poster complaining about the poster who complained about the poster who complained about the poster who criticized our head coach.

Silly isn't it when people want to turn this Board into a forum for pointing fingers at and criticizing another poster for his opinion.

It's an opinion and make your point about why that opinion is right or wrong and remember this old adage

" Never get into a pissing contest with a skunk, you both come out smelling bad."

I've never met Fordham but from what I've read on these boards there seems to be unanimity of opinion that he's a genuine prince of a guy. So, no way I'll dispute that.

However, this post is ridiculous and actually a little pathetic. 'Scoundrels', 'demented' etc etc? Please. I have zero respect for such an overwrought view.

It's friggin' basketball, Fordham. And this is an Internet message board. Among the tamest boards out there. People are gonna disagree. Many are like me, loyal SHU fans for 40 or more years. If we have come to the conclusion that we think Kevin Willard stinks then so be it. You're entitled to think -- and post-- otherwise. But let's please dispense with the talk of 'distasteful and unappreciative misanthropes and scoundrels.' It's inaccurate, offensive and reflects rather poorly on a man of such high character.

People are tired, and frustrated with supporting what's been terrible basketball for 10 years now without a single NCAA Tournament. The past 5 years in particular has been the worst in our history in the Big East with the 30-60 record and 5 consecutive 10+ losses per season.

What do people expect?

For all the justified bitching that upset people who don't like bitching, these are the same fans who have supported the team during this time. Look at the thousands who have lost interest and either no longer support. Would that indifference be better?

You know what cures all this? WIN. Win freaking basketball games. My God. Remember how positive things were at the start of 2011-12 before the implosion? Or even the start of last year before the implosion. We are not demented, we are frustrated.

The best thing about this Board is that we have a group of passionate persons whose love and loyalty for the Hall goes beyond reason .There is not one of us who despite zillions of other responsibilities who does not peek at our phones at dinner with friends , or sneak off to the rest room to get a glimpse of a new possible recruit or a hopeful upset. We are all over the lot with some of the faithful petitioning the Vatican for the initiation of Willard's candidacy for sainthood, while others are varnishing the rail to bade him a speedy adieu.

Fordham( Frank) is one of the finest people in the world ,and plays his tunes immediately from his heart. His generosity is legion, as is his in your face response when he feels that some of his shipmates are planning a mutiny, and constantly criticizing the captain of the ship.I seriously doubt that this gut level response will abide ,and Frank with further reflection will temper his fencing approach to daily dueling with the criticism of others. If not we will all make merry watching the barbs go back and forth.

At the end of the day I am unable to define one poster on this board that does not want a top tier program, and when you sift through all the comments that is the bottom line.So as I am off for surgery tomorrow I know that all my Pirate shipmates will still freely share their opinions and insights as the ship sails into the Big East waters.

Sal, ,Good luck with your surgery. Territory comes with our age. I know my post is 'over the top', but if it centers our board a litle bit, so much the better. Frank

I don't know fordham well but from my limited experience, I find it easy to agree with the compliments going his way. I am far from a fan of kw, but the criticisms can get annoying. So be it. Games are being played and I am trying to relish the talented kids in our uniforms.

The crazy thing is that despite all the criticisms of the coach, we do have a pretty good team and some very talented players. It is the team and players that should be the focus of our attention much more so than Coach Willard.

A coach gets too much credit when a team is winning and too much blame when they are losing.

The constant criticism from the same small group of posters is annoying. The opinions of the negative posters are legitimate and valid. I also support their right to voice their opinions on this board. But how many times can you beat a dead horse? Even after a win, they will harp on any minor negative thing possible as an opportunity to bash Willard. We get it. Willard deserves the heat. However, please try to be somewhat objective in your opinions, especially after a win. We have a good team but they will stumble along the way because of their youth. However, the future looks bright and promising.

Some might say this thread was started by a fragmented demented fan with a medical degree performing psychoanalysis . Oh wait, to borrow a quote from a famous line in the Hangover movie "he's not a doctor, he's a dentist"! That could explain the thread.
