What to Know About The Hall:

  • SHU looks to open up the season with a win for the fifth time in six seasons under KevinWillard and improve upon the program’s impressive 88-14-1 mark all-time on opening day. During Willard’s tenure, the Pirates have only dropped a total of four non-conference games at home (33-4, .891) and have completed the home portion of their non-conference slate unbeaten three times; including a 6-0 mark last season .
  • The Hall topped Baruch (84-79) in exhibition action during its only formal tune-up for the 2015-16 campaign as All-BIG EAST Rookie Team honoree Isaiah Whitehead shot 13-of-20 from the field and 6-of-10 from distance in a 40-point performance. Backcourt-mate Khadeen Carrington finished with 15 points and a game-high six assists as the two also combined for 10 steals. Reigning BIG EAST Rookie of the Year Angel Delgado posted eight points and seven boards.
  • Whitehead, Carrington and Delgado are part of a current six-man sophomore class was an outstanding group of freshmen last season. Last year’s rookies were responsible for 49 percent of the team’s scoring and 60 percent of the team’s rebounding. Three of the freshmen were responsible for winning seven BIG EAST Rookie of the Week awards, the most in the program’s single-season history.
  • Despite their youth, The Pirates captured 16 victories last season and have now won at least 15 games in each of the last four seasons. If they capture at least 15 victories in 2015-16, it will be the first time Seton Hall has won at least 15 in five consecutive seasons since 1990-95.
