Where to start, where to start?

I'll go with the fans. They were as responsible as anyone for what happened in the final 20 minutes of play. Creighton was performing with surgeon like precision until the fans got into their heads with a decibel level not heard since the Hall beat Villanova two years back.

Game was reminiscent of the Rutgers loss two weeks ago when after SHU dominated the entire contest the Scarlet Knights slowly got back into the tilt sparking the crowd and affecting the play of the Pirates.

Last night was role reversal.

Tip of the cap to the Bluejays. They run off turnovers, they run off missed shots, hell they even run off made baskets. It took the Hall a little more than a half to understand how to combat that tempo. But once they did it turned the game around.

Will the real Marcus Foster please stand up.

Tale of two halves. Foster goes down early and looks to be seriously injured. Then he comes back 10 minutes later and dominates culminating on a length of the court drive to can a teardrop floater at the final buzzer.

Second half Foster plays probably his worst 20 minutes of basketball this year scoring 2 points, missing all his shots from range and turning the ball over three times.

Best shooting team in the league? Well that would be Creighton right? Not last night as they canned 4 of 24 from the arc after making their first bomb from distance.

Speaking of shooting, a question. Team X misses their last 3 critical foul shots of the game including the front end of a one and one. Team Y hits 4 straight crucial foul shots with under 30 second to go to ice the victory. At 6PM yesterday what Pirate fan would have been happy knowing that would be the outcome?

Last night the Hall, and I'm looking at you Angel and Mamu, made Creighton's center Martin Krampelj look like a college All American. Not sure there's a worst team in the country playing the pick and roll.

Thank the lord that Angel Delgado does so many other things well on the court that his defense is not more of an issue regarding the result of so many Pirate games.

Staying with Mamukelashvili...his confidence on both sides of the court is shot. He doesn't want to shoot on offense and the few times he does, especially from distance, it's brick city.

And on D, well let's just say in the second half in a 2 minute span he gave up three layups on the pick and roll when he got caught in no man's land.

Right now it's tough sledding for the rookie. Welcome to high D1 basketball. Never easy for young big men.

Not sure why the Hall has to get penalized because the operator of the game and shot clock didn't start it at the beginning of the second half for three seconds. Teams often look at the clock late in a possession when they run their offense and when the Pirates finally attacked the basket with what they thought was 8 second left it was really 5 seconds and that proved important when the ball went out of bounds off a Creighton player and the Hall had to inbound the ball with a tick of the clock left.

In short an official screws up and the team pays for that mistake.

Here's the question. Was this your best game as a Pirate?

Here's the answer. No, my best game is yet to come.

Here's the player who was asked the question, Mike Nzei.

Something was missing from the post game presser last night and that something was Zach Brazilier.

Sure he's a pain in Willard's ass with his TMZ like questioning but you know what....he spices up the sometimes too formal Q&A with the coach.

At what point last night did anyone think the Hall was going to cover the spread?

Did McDermott wait too long to employ his 1-3-1 defense? When he did the Hall's 5 point lead morphed into a 1 point deficit. But because the Pirates retook the lead the Creighton coach was forced to abandon that defense and switch back to a man/man in the final 2 minutes of the game.

The bad Deeno...most everything he did in the first half including shooting too soon and missing allowing for Foster to hit his floater at the buzzer to give Creighton it's 11 point first half lead.

The good Deeno...dominating in playing the entire last 20 minutes while looking like the projected first team All Big East preseason player as voted on by the league coaches.

Is there a coach in the conference that works the refs better than McDermott? Even when he is getting favorable whistles he's constantly complaining. Often 20 feet outside of the coaching box.

Last night wasn't the best time but sooner or later the bench has to give Willard better minutes. The rotation of 6 needs help from Cale, Walker and Mamu to keep the starters fresh.

Why does it seem like whenever Creighton and Seton Hall match up the result is always a very entertaining game? Three words, tempo, tempo, tempo.

Both teams love to run and the result is eye candy for the fans.

Like sellouts? Well we're near one for the Georgetown game.

Is it because of Ewing and the Hoyas or is it because of PJ's head? I'll go with the latter.

Stop the ball.

Until SHU learned that lesson Creighton dominated the game from basket to basket. 94 feet of hell.

Nzei had a special game last night but a lot of that is because of his teammate Angel Delgado who demands a double team leaving Mike alone to do his thing.

And staying with Mike Nzei....it wasn't Creighton that stopped Delgado from getting 20 caroms it was his good friend the man from Lagos.

Notice not much mention about Desi? That's a tribute because what he does now is expected.

Same can be said about Myles Powell.

Final thought....can't remember the last time I was on my feet for the last 7 minutes of a game. If you wanted to see the court you had to stand as everyone else was doing the same. What a great way for the fans to salute the efforts on the court of the Seton Hall Pirates!!!!
