Seton Hall vs Rutgers in Storrs

The NCAA did what RU wouldn't during the regular season. Guess they'll find room on their schedule for us next Saturday.

Would have played UCONN in the old BE anyway.
Will be great national press, and a stepping stone in the programs growth which is on the upswing.
The girls are tough, will make SHU proud.

Yes it is, especially when you have the best team, the worst qualifying team, and two 8/9-caliber teams all within a couple hours of each other. This was pretty predictable, though SHU and RU fans really wanted to avoid UConn for obvious reasons.

Don't know why I even bothered watching the selection show, this was obviously going to happen.

Oh well, go beat Rutgers. And then...well let's not talk about what comes after that.

One good thing for you guys. UConn fans hate CViv and will root heavily against her.

Just focus on Saturday. It should be a good game. I'm glad that we got a shot at the Scarlet Knights after they avoided us this year. Last year's game was great and this should be an annual regular season game. One side wants that, but unfortunately the other does not.

Under her current contract, Rutgers Coach Stringer would get $500,000 for making just one Sweet 16. So much for that :)

She also gets $50,000 per tourney win. Hopefully the Pirates put a stop to that.

As for possibly playing UConn, there would be no shame in competing against and perhaps losing to the best.

It's a great opportunity. I'm assuming the chances of winning the tournament were not great. We weren't getting a great seed no matter what (based on the fact depaul was a 9 seed as well). So the 2nd round game would've been tough no matter what. Now, they have a chance to get a signature win over the in state rival and get exposure of playing UConn is they win. I'm not that disappointed in the scenario.

I think this is awesome. Is there any doubt that these tournament seedlings for either men or women are not influenced in some way by tv networks?

Congrats!

1. We get Rutgers. Can't think of a team that I'd rather play.

2. We are a 9 seed and located in the East region, you get Uconn. Any of the #1 seeds are going to be a powerhouse, give it your best shot against the champs.

A NCAA tournament berth. A chance to stick it to Cviv. And a chance to give it your all against the Champ.

Let's Go Pirates!

I love that they are playing RU, BUT the seeding sucks. They were ranked #24 before the loss in the BET Finals. They drop to the 28th spot,3rd higest votes after the top 25. WHY are they a 9th seed? That means between 33-36?? They should be a 7 seed playing a 10 and then a 2 seed.

Do you not realize that the polls mean absolutely zero when it comes to seeding? Go ask Stew Morrill and Utah State...

How about Auriemma telling other high seeds in his bracket to sit down, shup up, and stop complaing? He was right on, but you only get to make remarks like that when you've won 9 NC's and beat every team's brains in by 40...

Just back from Walsh. Kudos to SHU for setting up a very nice event to celebrate the occasion.

Congratulations to the Pirates.

I get the feeling that the NCAA was going to put SHU and RU in Storrs no matter what. They're more interested in marketing and money than in fairness. But it's the NCAA and you are going to play tough games not matter what.

The folks at RU are not giving SHU the slightest chance of advancing to round two. They are all lamenting having to play UConn. We'll see what happens.

Go Pirates!

But there's nothing unfair about it for either Seton Hall or Rutgers.

As for Princeton... they have a right to complain.

Our reaction at the selection show was, this is awesome, payback time. Over there it's "this stinks".

We are damn well going to bring it.

Bad words, RU, very bad words to you.

Think of it this way, UCONN will have the most viewers for each round. That means the biggest audience will be watching the highlights of Seton Hall crushing Rutgers in the pre game before we take on UCONN. We're not going deep, so this is a nice consolation.

As for Tony, I hope he gets a nice bonus for making the tournament. But im sure the top tier bonus was already paid out for just fielding a team that wasnt completely made of felons.

Great job Tony GO HALL!

Perhaps???? We lose by 40 end of story.
