This I do agree with.

While it’s been a nightmare for SHU and Holloway, it seems there is an inordinate amount of losses in and among the power 6 schools.
Shaheen went from having a potential top 25 preseason team, featuring two preseason all-BE level players, to a complete mess of a roster that can't crack 60 points. Meanwhile, most of the coaches in his league - including guys like Kim English and Kyle Neptune, who have half of Shaheen's coaching credentials -- seem to be swimming in NIL money. Must feel great.
Sha signed a 6 year deal at $2.4 million a year and SH is not going to eat the money remaining on his contract.
The sport is fundamentally different now than it was before Sha was hired. And while success or failure is due in part to the head coach, schools like Seton Hall will never have success in an unregulated NIL era without a consistent influx of donations that aren’t spearheaded by the fanbase. Perhaps we can have some dark horse runs in the tournament every 10 years, but no coach will be able to bring sustained success accustomed to a top tier Big 6 team.

I don’t buy that at all. We can point to countless examples of college programs that have done well without having the same level of “resources” as the power schools. And in other sports where spending is basically unrestricted (like MLB). It might make the job harder, but it’s always been harder for the smaller non-football Catholic schools, by and large, including Seton Hall.
There is a difference between saying Sha is on the “hot seat”, which I think is laughable, and constructive criticism, which is legitimate.
And, for the 100th time, NIL is absolutely no reason for us to have looked and played how we’ve looked and played against our schedule to date.
It’s also going to be harder to raise future NIL$ from the average fan if this is how the $ is being spent.
This. But it really requires you to have sharp talent evaluation and a clear plan. To date I see neither with this current roster. Hope it changes.
On the NIL the only caveat is if we wildly misspent the money on such poor evaluations. We see pro teams do this all the time. It’s already a long time to look this dreadful offensively.
Which ones? (I do agree that a loss to Monmouth has nothing to do with NIL).

To think his seat is even warm is an absolute joke..he’s one of our own..had a decent season last year and we owe him way way too much money to eat
Also, anyone who thinks/thought he is some great coach is clueless too..I said this long ago and was ran off of the board as a Willard fanboy that people I know in the sport (albeit only a small few) never had much good to say about Sha and his ability to run a program…lots of red flags everywhere. Also every one of his St. Peter’s teams were ATROCIOUS offensively in the MAAC, this is not new
He has proven to be an excellent tournament coach, this sport places a ridiculous amount on tournaments so that’s a big plus…the negative is most of those tournaments are single game random outcomes and his actual season coaching has always been average at best.

I wouldnt call last season "decent" shaheen was robbed of an ncaa tournament bid in his 2nd year. 13 wins in conference is better.than decent
Robbed or not we didn’t make NCAA Tournament, a lot of those 13 wins were against the bottom of the league and the no show vs St Johns is unforgivable
The UConn Marquette and NIT run were awesome

I thought year 1 was average. I thought year 2 was better than “decent” simply because I thought we would finish in the bottom half of the league. The OOC counts, and that was bad (though nothing like this year), but the conference season was very good. I thought we would be NIT and we ended up there but we were a legit borderline bubble that had a good case to be in the dance.
As far as him being an excellent tournament coach, I’m not sure I can go that far based on the resume to date. He had an unreal run at SPU and that buys you a lot, but we’ve gone one and out in his two BE tourneys, losing to a bad DePaul team with an even worse coach and then getting destroyed by St Johns in what was basically a “last 4 in” NCAA tournament game.
Like most good but not great teams in any conference they beat the middle to bottom and steal a few. Plus the very questionable ot game against creighton. Finished 4th 1 game behind creighton. Was creighton decent? Thats a good season, def not decent.
