Down to four schools, in no particular order: Creighton, St. John's, Providence, and Minnesota.

The fact that 3 other big east teams made his final four is telling. Dan will probably tell us it's because of Willard's status for '16 but to not even make his list is laughable.

KW's 2016 status and his record to date is EXACTLY why we won't being on any top recruits REAL final list. What's laughable is KW's record at SH!

No surprise that we didn't make his list. Willard status as a legitimate candidate to be replaced at season's end plus the departure of Gibbs and Sina and the press it got locally which is our primary target recruiting area, the continued locker room issues and last year's epic collapse will make it extremely difficult to land any high quality player.

Our brilliant BOR and AD probably think we need to extend him again because of this lame-duck status. Thanks guys, your stupidity is only matched by our coach.

Willard couldn't recruit without giving out assistant positions. Now being labeled a lame duck it will be almost impossible to land a decent player. The administration should have know this. They are to blame here, not Willard. They should have found the money to buy Willard out and let a new coach take over. The small thinking of our admin is going to set this program back even further than Willard already has.

I would have preferred ANYONE in here this year in place of Willard. At least the newness would have created some excitement. Willard could not recruit when he had everything in his favor. Now, because of some monumental mistakes made by our administration, ie., LYONS, we are stuck with this career loser.

Don't forget lawyer Hobbs allowing this dude and his agent to screw SHU financially and legally with the contract extension he helped create.

Gotta love SHU.

Most important to land a recruit, does not matter if you end up 2nd or 4th in the end. I will be really surprised if Ponds does not end up at SJU, they are due to land a player after striking out on Cheick Diallo, Brandon Sampson,George Papaginnis (sp) Greek center, Maverick Rowan. As a SHU fan not making his final list does not bother me, because in the end he will be SJU bound.

No doubt his lame-duck status hurts his cause, but it's hard to say how much when he couldn't close a door when he was still as secure as could be, in the earlier years.

Willard and his agent didn't screw SHU financially or legally. An agent's job is to negotiate the best contract for his client he can and if SH overpaid and had buyout or others provisions in its contract with Willard that are onerous then the only people to blame are on the SH side of the table. First for agreeing to the terms and secondly having the Administration and the BOR sign off on it.

I did blame Hobbs for allowing KW and his agent to screw SHU... And yes, KW's agent got his client a GREAT deal, and screwed SHU.

We screwed ourselves. What decision is more likely, based on history, to screw the party deciding more often than an SHU admin decision on a basketball coach?

I am very happy Xavier got this kid. While I still have hopes for this year, cause our core players are damned good and basketball doesn't have to be quantum physics (LET THEM PLAY!!!), it is imperative that 4-6 BE schools show they belong on the national stage. Nova and GU can't do it alone.

Ponds said yesterday that he has only briefly spoken with Ed Cooley but they made his final 4 because he really likes there style of play after watching them last year. WTF?

Oh and one bone to pick with some of you. each year the same posters predict PC to fall down to the lower tier because of how much they lost and each year in the last 3 they have been wrong. Ed Cooley has turned this program into an actual "program" now, so I would not be putting too much of your nest egg betting against him this year either. Carry on now :)

Semantics 80 & 75... Hobbs allowed KW and his agent to screw us... So yes, Hobbs screwed us... YAY for semantic. LOL.

Obviously Hobbs didn't read "The Art of the Deal". Plus, never let a law professor negotiate anything. Get a trial lawyer, someone experienced in negotiating. (Spoken like a trial lawyer).

How about having a real live professional AD hire the guy. We allowed ourselves to be in the situation where a dean was the best guy to make a critical hire in a field he is ignorant of. You gotta try to be that incompetent, for so long, like we have been.

Not eloquent, but well said!
