......with decision coming today

As expected, Seton Hall landed 2019 Our Saviour Lutheran (NY) guard Dashawn Davis after whiffing on Tyson Etienne and Al-Amir Dawes earlier in the fall. Now, they turn their attention to Orangeville Prep (ON) forward Tyrese Samuel in an effort to add to this year’s class.

The 6-foot-8, 220-pounder recently narrowed his list to Georgetown, Pittsburgh, Seton Hall and Wake Forest. He was slated to make his decision at some point during this past weekend, although he has seemingly chosen to pump the brakes for two more days.

Samuel made trips to Wake Forest on Sep. 7, Seton Hall on Nov. 2 and Pittsburgh on Nov. 9. The Rivals four-star had planned to visit Georgetown before the end of the month but never did.

Next season’s departure of Michael Nzei would open the door for Samuel to immediately compete for playing time among a shallow frontcourt of Sandro Mamukelashvili, Taurean Thompson and Romero Gil.

No school currently leads the way, however it should be noted that Pittsburgh is the popular pick. Samuel is expected to decide at some point this morning.
