It is interesting how when one looks at Seton Hall and compares it to Sacred Heart, an automatic assumption of superiority arises and not just regarding basketball.

However, upon my examination of their overall stats, I learned that their acceptance rate for new students is 59%. How in the world can this be when our acceptance rate is over 70%?

Could it be because their administration over time has proven to be more strategic than the administration at Seton Hall. As crazy as it sounds, I believe that we are really brought down by our close proximity to the very suspect section of South Orange Avenue. I really do believe that this bombed out looking stretch of road leading to the Garden State Parkway scares off a great deal of potential students.

Another interesting tidbit is that John Petillo, our former president is the present president of Sacred Heart. It is of utmost importance that our next president understands our deficiencies that keeps our acceptance level at such a high state. Moving forward, we need to reach the levels that many of our sister institutions within the Big East operate under.
