Smith Paces Pirates in Win at Dutchmen Invitational

Lebanon, Pa. – The Seton Hall women's cross country team picked up its second consecutive win to open the season, claiming the team victory at the Dutchmen Invitational hosted by Lebanon Valley College. Julia Smith (Pittsgrove, N.J.) paced the Pirates once again, crossing the finish line in third place overall.

Smith completed the 5k course in a time of 18:40.6 to lead The Hall, who had three top-5 finishers. Caitlin Fahy (Ringwood, N.J.) took home fourth overall in 18:41.5, followed by Paige Quigley (Sacramento, Calif.) in fifth with a time of 18:50.5. Honey Strosnider (Fairfield, Pa.) also took home a top-10 finish, claiming sixth with a time of 18:52.2.

Rounding out the Pirates' top-five was freshman Kayla Carrino (Lyndhurst, N.J.), who took 16th overall with a time of 19:37.8. The next two Pirates to complete the race were Hannah Cullum (San Antonio, Texas) and Taj Lanier (Lincoln University, Pa.), clocking times of 20:16.8 and 20:23.2, respectively.

The Pirates return to action next Saturday in Daytona Beach, Fla. as they compete in the Embry-Riddle Cross Country Invitational.
