So an influential Alum told me that SHU is exploring it's options...when it comes to men's basketball...take that for what it's worth.

I hope to GOD you are right. can u give a little more info? I say that and honestly nothing at all against you but I may be wrong because prior to the end of this season I rarely posted. just came on and read opinions. I wanted to give Willard the full 5 years. But when this season ende I had to post because I know that we all are true fans here whether we like WILLARD or not. But I personally had to speak out because enough is enough. I ve been reading the message board maybe a little more than 2 years and I have to ask . Are you the person who promised some important info in a week or so yet I never saw anything. this happened 3 times. If your not the person sorry but if u are please give a little more info. either wy thanks for some hope. OH the info promise wasn't recent but over say the last year or so. like I said probably 3 times this happened.

I hope so.

Im still struggling to believe that SHU could be this disastrously incompetent. ST John's AND DePaul both running circles around us now. Seriously?

Maybe a lot of this holding onto Willard is due to Hobbs egotistical ways and he doesn't want to own up to his mistakes about the contract.

Well we know KW still is...#whynotsetonhall...

Unfortunately these "options" are just as likely to include another extension which we'll hear about from dan two years from now.

Apparently there is. People on this board were critical of Willard for exploring his by checking out the Holy Cross gig.

Denial is not just a river in Egypt. Keep supporting Willard and see how that works out.

The direct quote was: "there is one person whose been a roadblock and has his own agenda when it comes to SHU basketball."
He wasn't talking about Pat.

Sounds like another Pat (Hobbs).

I totally believe it but that seems crazy doesn't it? Like this can really happen? Also aren't we at the point of no return with firing him? It is getting very late. Also if this is really true how does Lyons continue here? I mean this with like he should try to get himself a job where he can actually do his job

I'm just stating the facts. It doesn't mean I am a Willard supporter. Fact: Weeks ago the staff was told everyone was coming back.

Doesn't mean you cannot be right and HallIsBest cannot be right.

Seems as though there is someone who will not let SHU explore firing KW.... could this be the person who hired KW and wrote KW's contract and extension? .... Could that then have led this unnamed person (or someone else like Pat Lyons) to tell KW and staff that they are coming back (simply because this roadblock is too powerful?).

Gotta love SHU.

And really, if this is Hobbs... He is leaving/retiring from the Law school this school year... Why are people still listening to him?

Is he on the BoR? Or will he be come this summer? Ugh...

Whose quote is this?

The school can't afford to buy out Willard this year so it doesn't matter who's quote it is. Trust me, one person would not stop the Board of Rejents from doing something if they could afford to do it.

I was under the impression that in situations like these, the big donors to the program make their voices heard - pull their support for next season. Real quickly people start to listen. It seems that 9 out of 10 SHU fans want a change made. I cannot imagine that sentiment being different among people who fork over large amounts of money.

Hobbs has enough pull to make that irrelevant? or are the donors not getting the message across? It doesn't even seem like it has been under serious discussion to make a change.

Seton Hall has the money to do it, it just doesn't want to.

I'm starting to think the school's official silence (and Lyons') on this topic is becoming more and more curious. I would think the next week to 10 days will be the final opportunity for any movement.

I find it hard to believe there's a consensus that what we've seen on the court the past 5 seasons is acceptable. And this year was the worst of them all. It's a downward spiral.

I can see the former. The latter is plain as day.

Again, it just comes back full circle to the idiotic contract,me tension and guarantee handed to a young, unproven head coach with little in the way of charisma, presence or communication skills.

once had a professor who was a well connected Notre Dame alum tell me when they wanted to fire Charlie Weiss they had to pay him something crazy like 12mm. So 12 alums wrote checks for a mil each and said fire the fat bastard. Unfortunately Shu doesn't have the alums to pull something like that off, but i think thats what it would take to get rid of willard.
