So is covid over?

We will cross the 1 million deaths from Covid number in the next week or so. I am sure there will be some stories popping up as we cross that milestone but we're about 2 months out from the peak in hospitalizations so thankfully it is pretty much over. Should be the endemic phase from here.
Makes you wonder, doesn't it? Right on cue they have the CBDC lined up as well.
Covid has been over for me since April 2020 once I realized that shutdowns and restrictions were completely pointless.
Was an endemic a long time ago, but who's counting. One of the large PA systems this week relaxed mask mandates for patients, care-givers and visitors. Mask optional for vaccinated, but they are not checking. COVID vaccines are being tossed because they are outdated and the same will happen with tests.
Really don't understand your concern there, and don't think you appreciate what it means if we get left behind in the space. If you want the USD to remain the world's reserve currency, we absolutely need a CBDC.

That's true, just numbers on a screen changing. But I fear we are entering a period of major economic turmoil.

If you stayed full invested in equities after 2007/2008 crash you are still way ahead.I was pretty much all equites after crash but luckily put 60 % in a 50% equities and 50% fixed income managed account at my so’s firm in January 2022 which really soften the latest correction impact.
People, what is happening here is an tremendous buying opportunity. I can’t tell you how low it will go or when to buy. But, the was is creating some amazing buys. Yes it’s ugly and scary but unless we go into nuclear war, in two years those that invest will be extremely happy
I would tend to agree but something feels different this time. I think the war is a distraction from real economic issues that are about to boil over.
the US has been the world power for hisnwhole life, the reserve currency we are on the final stretch of this period. its ending. i think youre right. the future will be new.

Covid isn’t going anywhere. It will be just like the flu. It will have its season just like flu season. We should all be able to go to work, go out to dinner, go to sporting events, and live our lives when it shows up.

Rivian reminds me of Facebook. I bought the IPO at $36 I believe. It went down to around $17. Bought some more at $20. In two years, I was pretty happy about my investment. Still am.
I am a long term buy and hold investor. I invest what I believe in. You would be the same person who would be laughing at my investment in Tesla in 2012.
