Some German help for Mullin

LOL At first I had expected to find you might have meant "germane" help!

Herr Mullin ist sehr gut! --- at least at international recruiting!

What were the under-18 and national team stats put up by our own Patrik Auda? I wonder if anyone has an update on Patrik?

Give Mullin and his assistants credit for looking everywhere to add talent to his team. The one downside to looking overseas is that those players may look to play pro ball overseas after only one year playing college ball in the states.

Supposed to be real good. Kid is 6'9" without shoes and supposedly solid pro prospect. So far SJU has top class in Big East, that's not including Lovett and Owens who is sitting out. I also hear they're not done for 16'. Very excited to see SJU add significant talent this quickly. I love how the team plays and hustles for Mullin. The addition of significant talent will be a big boost.

We need Thompson in 2016 or a top 100 big man in 2017 to counter...no idea our chances though

No offense but who cares about SJU. I rather focus on SH!

To quote Derrick Coleman...whoop de dam do

I brought it up so sju comments are not inappropriate l. The best BE is not going to have a shItty sju, as attractive as that could be to a shu fan. We need the nyc media talking about the BE and that needs a decent st johns. And the strongest BE is the best thing for us.

Which pros?

I actually appreciate other fans point of view. I am not threatened by their remarks at all.

A good StJ's is good for the Big East. We will have a great rivalry again soon.

Agreed on this. We are on the upswing, and the hope is that our staff can ride the momentum of this year into continuing success and stability. We've been waiting for that for too long.

SJU has obviously been better in recent years. Like Steve Lavin or not - and I think he is a snake oil salesmen -- he had a decent run (3 20 win season, two NCAA tourneys, a few guys in the NBA, and brought some attention to the program after the Jarvis/Roberts debacle).

They are obviously a truly terrible team this year. But that is not unexpected. Fact is Lavin recruited terribly his last 2 years, after so much success early on. Mullin and Company basically took over an expansion team, and the results speak for themselves. But make no mistake about it, this is BY FAR the least talented St. John's team we are going to see over the next few years. They have major players coming in next year, from Lovett, to Ponds and Bashir Ahmend (considered one of the best, if not the best, JUCO right now). I spoke to a few prep coaches who follow international hoops and they were raving about the German kid.

Slice and the kid from Iowa State are great recruiters, and Mullin and Richmond have appeal. Whether Mullin can coach talent - the jury is out on that.

Important for the langue that the johnnies be good, Natural rivalry for us which will attract fan and media interest. .

It's not the content of SJUBalls message, it's the context. Heck I want every Big Eat team to do well. But I don't need the chest pounding were going to be great, blah blah blah. We've heard it all before with Lavim, etc. Go post on redman.com, see how complimentary they are too you. They have zero respect for seton Hall. Ask them what they think of Powell? Do you think it will be some glowing compliment? You can see it the tone of the message.they look down.

Who cares about St, Johns tonight?!?!? We just beat Georgetown and we are in 3rd place in the conference. GO PIRATES!

Mullin's personality (blowing off conference calls, yucking it up during blowouts, barely coaching the team) is a major red flag to me. I don't think he'll do a good job there even if he gets better players. I hope St. John's stays buried near the bottom of the league for the foreseeable future. A strong St. John's is not good for Seton Hall. Good thing they have actually been worse than us for the better part of 20 years. That's hard to do, but they've done it. LOL. Their fans are still living in 1985.

I don't get this vibe from the St. John's fans I'm friends with. They root for the traditional Big East teams to do well, especially when SJU is down. Yes, there were some who got carried away with the Lavin hype machine, but honestly after what Lavin did in Year 1 with Norm Roberts' players and the recruiting class he brought in, can you blame them? We've seen that story before with our fan base.

Most objective SJU fans who follow HS/prep ball no that we've landed a really good one with Powell. Hell, they really wanted Carrington and Delgado too, though they knew they had little change with the Antigua connection. Even after the Whitehead drama - he was going to St. John's before Willard played the Tiny Morton card -- I don't get the animosity from their fans. That's still focused on Cuse and Gtown from the old Big East days or even with some of the newer members (no love lost with SJU fans and Xavier, especially with some of the Reynolds and Macura stuff that's gone on).

And here I thought this was going to be a thread about Mullin hiring an illegal immigrant. Wrong board. My bad.
